Williamsburg Homes Takes money and with no intention of giving anything in return. Lake Village Indiana

My husband and I were just getting our act together when we walked in to Williamsburg homes to look at the homes on there lot. We chose one we fell in love with and then asked David Hayes the owner if there was any lots available, we then all piled into his car that weekend and went to look at a lot 5 minutes from his place of business. My husband and I liked it, told him we just could not afford it at that moment so maybe when we have a loan in place. He proceeded to tell me that if we make payments to him he would hold it for us. So we enter into a contract with him, and my husband and I both expressed the money problems we were currently under since my husband worked with swift. We told him we could only pay what we can when we could. He said that was fine. So we continued on with the contract and like we said paid what we could when we could. We had paid 100 dollars as the deposit, and then the following week paid another 2 grand, Our life savings to that point. We ended up paying about 3200 all together.

The followying year we tried to get a loan and found out we couldn't since there was some credit issues with my husband. I went to Williamsburg to talk to David Hayes told him it would be several months before we could get a loan and started to show him The Identity theft on my husbands credit and that we were in the process of clearing all that up. He waived his hands in the air and said I feel real bad for you I do, but I've held this property long enough and lost money on it. I'm gonna have to put it back on the market. At that point the check I was going to hand him was no longer going to him. I then stated well if you are backing out I expect my money back. I mean I backed out keep the money but you are. He then said you better get yourself a lawyer. I walked out extremely upset with no clue what to do. Eventually I got a lawyer, and that is a whole other complaint. Anyway during that battle, we ended up settling and him keeping the money.

Hear say around this town he does this to many people. And often the houses he does put up often are put together rather badly.
