Linda Bagnato falsely advertises. On dreamhorse.com claimed she had a 16 hand, registered Missouri Fox trotter mare with extensive training including mounted patrol! The mare is only 15 hands per my licensed Veterinarian. This horse is spur trained, south paw reining trianed, dangerous; head tossing, rearing, will not lift her feet, had not been trimmed in over 1 year, terrified of mud, water, creeks, anything wet. The horse was completely unmanageable once she was off the property she had not left in 9 years. The horse runs from people, will not move if attempted to ride bareback.
I suspect the horse may have been drugged during pre-purchase ride. Linda stated that I must have ruined her horse since Linda claims to be a "horse whisperer" and horse psychologist, although she has no credentials. She is a lawyer however. I still have not recieved any registration papers . Linda gave me registraion papers unsigned, which I did not notice until I got back to NY. I mailed them back to her and they have not been seen again.
I payed $4500 for a horse that is dangerous, fearful, ill mannered, not socialized and not re-sellable. I requested that I ship the mare back to Linda, at my expense and be given a refund. Linda adamently refused, reiterating her powers of being a horse whisperer and trainer extroidinaire.
She is a scam artist. Note too that Linda is only a fair rider, not a qualified horse trainer and is quick to say that it is all the buyers lack of ability. A good lawyer indeed! I've been riding over 40 years, hunter jump seat trained, peferring to ride bareback, especially jumping. I can ride but don't need the headache and heartache of a fearful, dangerou, poorly trained horse.
Buyers be ware of this horse scam!

I feel that the OP has misrepresented their experience. Anyone who has any experience in buying horses will get a pre-purchase exam on a horse they are considering. That would include x-rays and blood work. The OP obviously failed to do that. The difference between a 16 and 15 hand horse is noticeable without a stick. This fact alone sent up a warning flag to me.
My advice to the OP is to make sure they get a thorough pre-purchase exam by an impartial licensed veterinarian before any money changes hands. Also I would recommend lessons at a reputable stable in riding and horsemanship. The OP needs more time to learn about proper horse care. Once the OP decides to purchase another animal they should keep them at a reputable boarding stable where there will be experienced people there to lend a hand.

This review comes up when you search under Heaven's Gait Farm, Jeffersonville, NY. As should be noted the farm in question is in Virginia. I feel for Anonymous Naples. I have had a similar experience. Our farm was established to provide horse owners with a worry free peaceful place to retire their horses at a reasonable cost.
