Gilbert Graves Clinic Dr. Fraser, MD Very costly medical charges above and beyond insurance payment. Bowling Green, Kentucky

I had been experiencing joint pain in several different areas so I went to see Rheumatology specialist, Dr. Asad Fraser at the Gilbert Graves Clinic. They are part of The Medical Center--the largest medical facility in Bowling Green, KY. Dr. Fraser spent about 10 minutes interviewing me and giving a very basic physical exam. He said that he did not beleive that I had Rheumatory arthritis. He said that he did not need to do any further testing since for some reason he was under the impression that I did not have insurance. When I explained that I did have insurance, he immediately ordered blood draws and x-rays. A few weeks later I received a medical bill for nearly $300! It turns out that Graves Gilbert Clinic charges nearly 100% more for their x-rays and blood tests than my insurance coverage allows. I disputed the conspicously high charges with one of their "customer servce" reps but all she did was keep insisting that their prices were competitive. I have never had this problem with any other medical clinic prior to this. They always charged what my insurance company allowed. 

GGC and the Medical Center will never receive any future business from me or my family. If you find yourself in Bowling Green, KY and need medical attention, you would do well to steer clear of The Medical Center and Graves Gilbert Clinic...unless you don't mind paying nearly double what other facilities charge.
