Hotwire Fraudulent lowert price claim Costa Mesa, CA, Internet

I searched for a room to stay in using Hotwire. Hotwire claimed that its choices of hotels were "equivalent" to hotels such as Clarion, Best Western, etc. By equivalent, they mean has four walls and a roof. The actual hotel was Knights Inn which is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to national hotel chains. The base Hotwire price they charged for the hotel was actually $1 higher than the advertised Knights Inn base price without discounts. Hotwire then added their huge booking fee. No lowest price as they guarantee. Hotel was a dump compared to Clarion or Best Western. It was also incredibly noisy, but Knight's Inn at that location didn't even have a night clerk. As it was, with AARP or AAA discounts, the room would have been $22 per night cheaper if I had just gone to the hotel and signed in without Hotwire. I've used Hotwire before, but this is the third time in a row Hotwire has charged a premium for a bad experience. Priceline has not gotten me yet, so I will try them from now on.
