i had been a long term user of Priceline.com. I needed to find a hotel in Charlottesville, Virginia for next October, 2011. I looked through all my paperwork to make sure i had not made it previously, and could not find the print-out (which i always keep in my office desk drawer) of the reservation, so i assumed (wrongly) i had not made it. As that is a busy time in Charlottesville with UVA Football games going on, i hurried to make the reservation in May, 2011. i was able to find a Days Inn for one night at a decent price, around $130. I made the reservation. A little later i found the reservation i had made previously, the printed page had fallen behind my desk.
It was for the exact same date, same hotel, and same price. I immediately called Priceline, and asked for a credit to my credit card for the accidental duplicate reservation. The first person said no. I got a manager and he also said no - it is stated in their T&Cs that no refunds are ever given. I explained i was a long term customer and that they had plenty of time to fill this reservation. I explained they would lose a long term customer and that i would also dispute this charge with my credit card company if they refused. He again refused. I attempted to email others at Priceline to get this resolved favorably - again no budging from their terms and conditions even for this clear accident. It is still under dispute, but i advise all who might use Priceline.com of this terrible policy.

Let's say that you made a reservation for yourself. You then talked to a good friend who wants to join you as well. So you make and pay for the reservation in your name. But then at some later point(whether was an hour or month later) that other person tells you they can no longer come.
So is it still a clear accident?

- Don't be so sure about your Credit Card. When you make a reservation on Price Line you agree to their terms. This includes NO REFUNDS, not "Well you can get a refund if you think you didn't have one". Most likely Priceline will just tell your CC that and your CC will deny the dispute..and yes I am sure Priceline is well aware of that the odds are in their favor.
When you act as your own travel agent you have to be willing to accept responsibility for YOUR mistakes. Perhaps next time you should keep better track of your reservations.
