I've had the same problem before at other motels so this is what I always do:
1. I make reservations through the motel website on line.
2. I make a copy of the confirmation email THAT SHOWS THE RATE AND ANY OTHER REQUIREMENTS.
3. I show this to the desk clerk when I check in.
People who call the hotel and get quoted some rate, have no documentation except a confirmation number, and are dependent on "he saids" sometimes get a raw deal.
