Imagine booking a three-star hotel through respected travel site Expedia.com for your NYC family vacation only to end up sleeping on the floor w/ no pillows in an illegal and unsafe building located next door to housing projects, your children are scared, and noisy tenants (which are also illegally being forced out of the bldg) come in and out at all hours of the night. Then imagine if you possibly discover that the same company has been scamming tenants, tourists, landlords and agents around the world, for years using different business names.

I hope my experiences can serve as a public warning to anyone considering WooGo Group Properties or WooGo Lincoln Center Apartments as their Hotel. The way we fell into this experience was to trust Expedia.com as our booking agent. Almost one week after putting this site up, and sending notices to Expedia of this mess, I was getting nowhere.

As the threads of this story have come together, some of the most shocking quotes I found online included the fact that "2 or 3 companies have been formed and gone into liquidation leaving creditors behind.
Apparently after one year or so of use, they abandon the properties (sounds like just enough time to keep ahead of those court dates, doesn't it?), and keeping one step ahead of creditors. In fact, I also found a review about YourStay.com (now WooGo.com) that said this:

"What I found out was certainly disheartening to say the least. Yourstay.com have been sued MULTIPLE times in London by many old business associates. All of the lawsuits have been lost by Yourstay.com and they basically go bankrupt and change names and continue scamming people." (source) ]

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Woogo is a HUGE Scam

AUTHOR: Kim - Mesa (U.S.A.)

Do not stay in any Woogo apartment. Read reviews online. (( links redacted by ROR))

Woogo is not a hotel. It is not license to be a hotel, nor is it suitable for any sort of stay. The owners of this company sign a lease with a cheap, run down apartment building and then rent out each room as a hotel, which is against the law. They appear to still be in business even though there are ongoing attempts to get them shut down. Orbitz and Expedia are still booking the proeprties though.

The woogo websites show nice, kept up hotel rooms but they are a very innacurate depiction of the hotel. Rooms are very small and bare and dirty. Some are absolutely deplorable.

Remember, you get what you pay for. People book these properties due to the very attractive price and they charge far less than what standard hotel rooms are. There is a reason for that. Now you know the reason. Do not book Woogo and stay clear of all of their properties.
