A.S.C. Customer Service & Survey Group AKA R&M Customer Service AKA Customer Service Group Inc. Secret Shopper or Secret scammer???? Brampton North Van Ontario Canada

I recieved a letter in the mail stating that I had been chosen to be a secret shopper for this company. With the letter there was a page intitled Code of Conduct and also included was an evaluation form and a check for $965.00.

I was to call the number so the check could be activated, then spend $30 at Walmart and JC Penny. I was also to send $700 through Money Gram to a Toni Staford in Ontario Canada. I was being paid $170. Being a young single mother with bills to pay I imediately deposited the check in my account.

The teller at the bank deposited the check so I thought there wasn't anything wierd about it. My bank held the money for 5 business days because it was a new account, on the 5th day when the check was suposed to go through I got a call from my bank saying the check was counterfeit. The bank lets you have $100 of the deposit and holds the rest, so I spent the $100 on my two assignments and other things.

Now I owe the bank the money plus the overdraft charges. I am completely devestated. It doesn't seem like much money but for me it is. I contacted the company again and asked for the number of the guy they listed as the Human Resources Manager, John E. Akim. The lady who answered the phone was Michelle, that was at about 9AM and I still havent heard from them. Ive called several times and I am not sure what to do now. My bank says file a police report but im not sure there is anything my local police can do.

I guess I can check being scammed from Canadians off my list of things in my life....
