Mr. Lomax called my job, told me that within the hour deputies would be there to arrest me. He started reading class 3 felony rhetoric, and stated he had a court case number. Only to find out this was incorrect information. He stated that I was going to be arrested if I didn't make a payment to him ASAP. He was extremely rude, also told me that he had run a background check on me and knew exactly where I lived, where I worked etc etc. Very threatening and rude. He did NOT do his homework, the debit he was so-called going to have me arrested for was not accurate. He charged me for the entire amount then wanted to act like he was doing me a favour. I reported him to the FTC and I am contacting an attorney reference to this type of illegal collection tactic.

happened to me

He is definitely not an attorney.  I received a similar call, from a JW Lomax who is apparently associated with this "law firm", and I googled the name before returning the call and came across these scams.  I checked the Florida Bar website and he is not a registered attorney, so even if he went to law school or something, he can not practice in Florida.

Furthermore, when I spoke with him he did not claim to be an attorney and the company he works for has a different name.  I am going to be writing my own report.

The esteemed Mr Lomax

Mr Lomax is more than likely not an attorney at all but a collector claiming to be one. That is why the State attorneys office investigated them to begin with was practices such as this. They had already settled a case with the state attorneys office and promised not to indulge in these collection activities again. Evidently that is not the case.

I called the FTC and filed a complaint, seems like this 'company' has quite an extensive history with the FTC and long laundry list of victims. I also contacted the FSAG.

I called to ask Mr. Lomax why my monies were not returned to my account as he agreed and he started screaming at me at the top of his lungs like a banshee, then attempted to say that I was being rude, not listening, and over-talking him. When he was the ONLY one talking! I called to hear him tell ME where MY money was so why would I be over-talking him??? I wanted to hear it has been returned to your account. Needless to say he continued to rant and rave and act very deranged over the phone then he slammed it down. I have it on tape, and even better yet, he didnt disconect the call all the way and began to tell his male receptionist that I was a B-I-T-C-H yes he spelled it out. They laughed and talked a while and Mr Lomax states again clearly that (name) woman is a b***h and proceeds to hurle insults about me and doesn't even know me. So professional of an attorney.

Does the Florida Bar association know one of their esteemed esquires conducts themself in this manner? 6mins 29 secs later (and still recording)...he picks the phone up to make a call and notices I am still onthe line! I let him know I heard everything that was said, I am not a b***h and everything was recorded.

Allen Lewis and Associate already on probation

Pretty sure these folks recently settled with the Florida State Attorney's office for this type of activity. You should probably call the State Attorneys office and let them know what is going on. I guess you can call your own attorney as well if you want but start with State Attorneys office first to see what further action they want you to take.
