In October of 2007 I purchased a home warranty through America Home Warranty Company. I was advised they would charge a $60.00 fee to come to my home. I sent a request for service to my garage door opener shortly thereafter. I contacted the company by phone (Cosco Garage Door, Inc in Fountain Valley, CA).

I spoke with the secretary Amanda and told her why I needed the technician. She told me that she did not believe that the problem I was addressing was covered under warranty. She provided me the phone number for the technician. I called the technician on the phone and he also told me that the problem did not sound like it was covered under the warranty but that he would come out and take a look. I told him that if it was not covered I did not want him to come out because I could get someone local to handle it for less money. He told me he was coming anyway. I called my husband and told him what the technician said and in turn my husband called the technician and told him not to come. The technician came anyway. My juvenile son was the only one home and he told the technician he was not allowed in and asked him to leave. At no time was he allowed into my home.

I contacted The home warranty service and advised them about what had happened and was advised not to worry about it. Five months later I received a $60. bill from American Home Warranty for the service call. I was told by the AHS supervisor that the Cosco technician said I had allowed him to complete a full diagnostic diagnosis on my garage door opener. So not only was the technician not allowed in my home, he lied about completing service on the garage door opener. While speaking with the supervisor of AHS It was evident he believed that I, the customer, was lying. Although he agreed to credit me the $60. I have concerns that AHS uses companies that are not reputable. The mere fact that the supervisor told me he did not know who to believe disgusted me. I asked him to find out the type of gargage door opener I had to prove he was telling the truth, but he refused stating it did not matter and he was giving me a credit anyway. It would seem that the AHS supervisor did not care that Cosco Garage Doors were lying and would continue to use their services. WOW, that's scary!

To say the least I tried to cancel their services, but of course I was disconnected!!
