I contacted Atlantic Building inspections to conduct a pre purchase home inspection. They sent me a quote via e-mail and I contracted their services and paid. The night before the scheduled inspection they called and sent an e-mail stating that in order for the inspection to take place I would have to pay $150.00 more than what was quoted. I called and e-mailed but could not get a hold of the responsible person. On the morning of the inspection, I received and e-mail from the owner, Carlos Gonzales, explaining that there was a glitch in the system and that the inspection could not take place unless I paid the additional $150.00. At that point I had two choices, miss the inspection period or go ahead and pay extra. I called Carlos and we agreed that I would pay the extra $150.00 and he would in return provide the four point inspection for free.  During our conversation Carlos also mentioned about checking for termites and the roof. Couple of minutes after, I received an e-mail from his office requesting I signed the service agreement. However, the service agreement did not include the home inspection. I called the office and ask them to fix the service agreement in order for me to sign. Again, another e-mail was sent that did not include the correct service agreement. I called the office and asked to be contacted. The inspector showed up and claimed that he could not check for termites. I called the office again and had no response. Two days after the inspection, I received a confirmation of $150.00 charged on my credit card without my authorization and a copy of the service agreement (not corrected). I contacted the office and to my surprise they refunded the full amount and said that they will not provide our report. Those people are criminals that use deceiving and cohesion tactics to conduct business. I have a very limited amount of time after the inspection to inform the bank if I would like to go forward with the purchase without losing my escrow and they make use of that to force you to use their services.

The only joke is this Customer

First of all it took me 6 months to see this report on this web-site. I found it after searching for something unrelated. This customer did not even have the decency to speak with me or anyone of our staff members regarding the situation. He went directly to this public forum and did not even advise us that he was doing so. I remember this case very clearly and it is the way I stated. Additionally, he received his money back so there is no RIP OFF! This customer does not appear to understand the meaning of the words RIP OFF! Sir that is when someone takes your money and provides nothing in return. We DID NOT take your money!! Please stop stating lies, I challenge you to find any other complaint ANYWHERE on the internet or any other place regarding are incredible service. You and I had a bad experience, well that happens sometimes. Our record is clean and we have performed thousands of inspections in South Florida. Dear general public, please take the time to perform a real investigation and you will see that we have an outstanding record and an unbelievable customer service. Thank you. Carlos Gonzalez/Owner/Atlantic Building Inspections

This company is a joke

First of all, I want to make it clear that took the owner of the company over 6 months to answer to my complaint. In his rebuttal, the owner of the company claims to remember me but he described a entire different story than mine. I can only conclude that he is referring to another client. Mr. Gonzalez's rebuttal comes to confirm that the "glitch" occurs very often. Atlantic Building Inspections deceiving practices is unfit to business.

Dear Consumers,
I am the owner and operator of Atlantic Building Inspections.  We have been in business for many many years and have served South Florida with professionalism, integrity and respect.  Please visit our web-site for a long long list of testimonials.  Of course, in the world of business there are always clients, whom have unrealistic expectations.  Our side of the story:  I remember these clients clearly.  They, from the very beginning, were very difficult to deal with.  First of all a quotation was given and they pushed and pushed for a discount.  This is what caused the confusion to begin with.  We do not offer discounts for our services.  Our services speak for themselves.  In any case, this threw our system for a loop and, admittedly, mistakes were made.  We tried everything to make it right; however, the clients were very difficult.  They then proceeded to talk "law-suit" talk about what if we miss something and what type of insurance do we carry.  Honestly, we became very suspicious of their intentions and decided that it was for the best that they do business with someone else.  We, returned every penny to them and, politely, asked them to contract a different company.  We did not keep their money and we did offer a list of other companies, which may service them.  Furthermore, they were not at the end of their inspection period because I clearly asked that question several times.  We have been performing inspections for many years and this is the first report I have ever seen, which tries to paint us in a negative color.  Please see for yourselves that we are a professional outfit.  Thank You.  Carlos Gonzalez
