This scam is epic. It comes in an envelope that could be mistaken as being sent from the U.S. Government. There is no evident parent company (such as Publishers Clearing House).
The letter, quite official looking, says you could win a lump sum $1,980,000.00 or a payout of $100,000.00 a year for a total of $3,000,000.00. So what's the catch?
For this alleged prize, you have to send them an Acquisition Fee of $12.99.
After this, you never hear back. No letter confirming the amount they recieved nor your official entrance into whatever this mystery sweepstakes is. As stated earlier, there is no sense of any company claiming ownership for this contest. It comes with a preaddressed envelope, yet, no postage paid further adding to speculation. This envelope's address is stamped merely:
Award Assessment Division
P.O. Box 2905
Kansas City, KS 66110-2905
United States Of America
If something comes from a mystery sender with no verifiable parent company, STAY AWAY.
