I purchased New Kitchen Appliances before I retired in 2009 and paid for a extended warranty to the mfg. warranty to last for 3 years I was told that the warranty would start after the mfg. warranty ended. This is not what happened the warranty I received ran from 2008-04-21 to 2011-04-21. Cheating me out of a years warranty. A extended warranty is to run after the mfg. warranty not with it.

When our appliances started going out in December of 2011 and I called for a repair I was informed that my contract had ran out in April of this year. When I asked why they did not let me know that my contract was up they informed me that they choose not to renew my contract. I tried to explain to the customer service dept. that my contract was not due to expire until 2012-04-21. They informed me that their extended warranty ran with the mfg. warranty and covered things that the mfg.s warranty did not cover like Lighting Strikes.

They refired me to Maytag where I purchased the appliances to see if they would cover the cost if the repair.

Both myself and my wife are retired and on fixed income, and fixing or replacing the appliances was not possible on our income. After several phone calls from me and pleading from my wife we were offered a one year extended warranty and emergency repair that took over 2 months to get completed.

However the new one year is not with BANKERS it is through Maytag at a cost of $268.00 for one appliance.

If I new that my contract had expired with Bankers I could have purchased coverage through Maytag by 8/17/2011 and had another 3 year for $169.22.

I am still working with Maytag to obtain that warranty with not much help fro customer service!
