They keep changing names and lawyers so I don't know what to do. They have been three different lawyedrs so I don't know what s happening
My husband and I were trying to get a mortgage modification loan. We sent $275.00 for the first filing fee. We were told up front that we were great candidates for this type of loan because our mortgage payments were so much more than the worth of our house. After a few weeks they quoted an even better mortgage reduction with an even lower interest rate but needed another $275.00 to refile and still reashured us that if for some reason we didn't get the modification loan that 100% of the money would be returned.
After another few weeks they said that they turned us down and was so appoligetic and again reasured us that with a few weeks we not only would receive a full refund, but also an explanation why we wouldn't get the loan.
I started calling The Bull Dog Group Lawfirm and got the same recording from Tom Carter (if that is really his name) saying to leave a message and phone number a they would return my call as soon as possible.
I call twice a day and left a message and have a record of all my calls. I don't know what else to do.

Incorrect Information in Report - Confusion

The report that was written and posted makes reference to a Consumer located in Florida and an individual by the name of Tom Carter that works for the company. The consumer further states that they reached a message machine. All calls are directed to a receptionist or a live person in our answering service. Calls don't get lost in voicemail.
There is no law firm in New York by the name of Bulldog Law Group. Law Firms in the State of New York are required to contain the name or names of attorneys licensed to practice law in New York State.
It is quite common for a law firm to add or drop names of members of the law firm from time to time. The consumer leads one to believe that there is something improper with having three different lawyers. In fact, a busy law firm can have dozens of lawyers and some of them may be named on the banner based upon their tenure.
The consumer also makes reference to the filing fees of $275 with a guarantee to return funds if they did not receive a modification. I can assure you that the fee to process a loan modification and litigate a foreclosure defense is many thousands of dollars.
Guarantees are also not allowed under the Rules of Professional Conduct and have never been offered. Law firms are paid for their time and advice, otherwise they would be unable to meet their internal financial obligations.
We do not do business with consumers in the State of Florida, we only represent individuals in New York State.
Our success rate and satisfied customer base numbers in the hundreds and we have been located in the same building since 1969. Hardly a fly-by-night operation that is described in the post.
The only logical conclusion that can be reached as to why someone would post what they did is to try to discredit a competitor that is ranked at the top of the market or from a former employee that may be disgruntled.
Loan Modifications require perseverance and accurate information and data. There are many not-for-profit agencies that can assist homeowners and at the next level there are law firms that
specialize in Loan Modifications and Foreclosure Defense.
The last thing that you want to do is deal with a fast talking company that makes you promises that seem too good to be true, calls you on the telephone and you are unable to look them in the eye.

This firm appears to advertise in violation of New York ethical rules and may have an illegal fee sharing agreement with another LLC. If you file a grievance and they are then they may get into a heap of trouble. Here is the contact info for the grievance committee and the form to use.
