Canon Digital Camera Ripoff--Defective Product CANONPaid $200 for new Canon Powershot A310. I used it very little and took care of my camera.
Then the camera shut off immediately when the door was opened. It became useless.
One can't get anything coherent out of either Canon's e-mail or telephone help.
After telling me they would fix it and sending it to them, I got an email saying that it would cost $87 to do so. This camera is defective, and Canon wants to charge me to fix their mistake.
The Canon digital camera is a poorly built, unreliable, substantially overpriced, worthless piece of utter junk with significant, recognized hardware and problems.Canon apparently is aware the camera has problems, refuses to do anything about 'repairs' which shouldn't be needed anyway, and I am out.

Tried to do a little research on the Canon 310 cause I just bought a Canon last week and I was beginning to wonder if I'd made a mistake. The 310 came out over 4 years ago. You can't find a 310 for sale anyplace, so I guess you bought it a while back. You don't state when you bought it only that you bought it new. It's a 3m pixel camera with a 1.5 screen. Lord they're up to 12 and 15m pixel cameras and you can buy a 7.1 or 8 with a 2.5 or 3" screen for $150 to $200. The one I bought "just came out new" so the stores are dumping "last year's models for $119 to $179. It's as bad as last year's computers. How old IS your camera? They sure tried to sell me their 2 or 3 year warranty plans. For $36, for 2 or $48 for 3 years. Everything was suppose to be covered. I have up to a year to take it.
