The preview feature on the canvas people's website was very misleading and did not show anyone with red eyes in the picture I uploaded. However, when I got the canvas in the mail, two of the three people in the picture had bright red eyes. Even worse, when I called the customer service number to speak with someone, the man who answered was extremely belligerent to me and seemed to want to pick a fight.  He told me that he was the owner of the company.  I have never experienced such poor treatment.  The owner told me that if I wanted a new canvas without red eyes I would have to pay full price to purchase a new one! Prospective buyer beware, this company doesn't seem to care about the quality of their work, misleading their customer or satisfying them.  I feel taken advantage of.

Our Commitment To Customer Satisfaction

AUTHOR: Canvas People - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 12, 2013

Canvas People prides itself in the level of service provided to each and every customer.  We apologize for the unsatisfactory experience this customer claims they have encountered.

Our website has been designed to be user friendly and provide customers the ability to preview their orders prior to submitting them, this allows customers to edit their photograph as to how they would like it to appear on final canvas product.  Aside from the edit option we also offer frames and special effects customers may choose from to enhance their canvas.  For red eye removal we recommend the basic photo touch up.

Our customer service team is a group of professional individuals who are well versed and are ready to assist any customer with placing orders or other questions they may have.

Canvas People stands behind their product 100% and if a customer is not satisfied  with their canvas we will make every attempt possible to accommodate them.   Our goal is to make every one of our customers a Canvas People Evangelist.

The glowing language of owners rebuttal worthless

AUTHOR: Michael A - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 12, 2013

Despite the glowing language of the owners rebuttal, what he wrote is worthless.  It means nothing.  The company's "every attempt", is simply to say you saw it before you bought it.  That is true, but I can usually take most items back to a store and get my money back, even if I saw it before I bought it.  This offer has NEVER been presented to me.  Therefore, they have NOT made "every attempt", in my opinion.

Company Lacks Motivation To Make Customers Happy

AUTHOR: Michael Anderson - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, March 01, 2013

Recently, I purchased a canvas print as well.  I had a little difficulty understanding the way the picture would be attached to the canvas as shown on the web site, and I accept that it is my fault the print was folded at the places it was.  However, where I fault the company, and where I think they made a mistake dealing with me, was they would offer to let me redo the print at no extra charge.

I did explain that I was not very tech-savy, and that I understood what I done wrong with their tools on the site.  I also explained this was the first time I had ever done anything like this before.  However, they basically said there was nothing they would do for me.

I feel like they do not wish to build a customer relationship with me by giving me a one-time do-over, and that is what I think is their mistake.  They had an opportunity to help me and make me want to use them again, but I feel I am just someone to extract a quick fee from, in their mind.  Long term is not in their plans.  Most of the time, I go get photos developed and I do not have to pay for prints I do not like.  Yes, this is more money, but I WOULD NOT make this same mistake again.  I have learned how their site works now.
Oh well, live and learn (hopefully),

Michael
