  •  Dealer advertised a price on their website as a 'special'.  The dealer increased the price 13% at sale time for 'dealer added options' that they claimed were accounted for in their fine print, but listed nowhere.  The sales agreement lists "N/A" for dealer accessories and an increased cash price for the vehicle.

  • $599 was added to the price described as a "Predelivery Service Fee" to cover costs of "...inspecting, cleaning and adjusting...".  A safety item, right rear view mirror is defective and I am not able to adjust the rear view mirror.  I will take the car back to get this fixed as soon as I can take time off.

Not my first rodeo

I have purchased more than 7 new cars in the past & am familiar with 'car dealers' and their ilk.  This transaction was not 'business as usual' for a reputable dealership.

I expected some amount of profit fluff built into the final price. I did not expect 13% increase to an "advertised price" for 'added options' that they declined to list except to say that they can't be removed.

Auto dealers are only held to any ethical standards by their customers.  I would have benefited from a warning and been better prepared to walk away.  I hope that my taking the time to share a 'beware', others benefit.

The dealer's objective is to get the best price he can for the vehicle...

Your option is to not sign the contract and buy the car.  You did sign it, right and they didn't  change it AFTER you signed, did they?

YOU Ripped yourself off, the dealer was just doing business as usual.
