hi, this is Brandon and Crystal Hamilton from myrtle Beach.

I have several complaints on colortyme store in myrtle beach, to start this company called my wife's job over 6 times daily on a 6 day occasion, to the extent my wife got fired from her job, they sent numerous employee's to our home on several occasions, to the point of 5 or more times some within 15 minute peroids, these so called employee's would then push the door to try and open turn the door knobs, and pound the door so hard neighbor's would complain to us when we got home. We were told several times that they looked in our window's and moved items outside that were sitting in front of the window to try and look inside.

They stood in front of the door screaming what they were there for, who they were, and that's embarassing when you have neighbor's in your business like that because of a rental store.

The people we put down as references on our contract have been turned into contacts as if these family members see us on a regular basics some live as far as 15 hours away and they call them on numerous occasions daily. They have broken the part of the air conditioner that blocks the window trying to look in the window, Have broken one of our window's and seems like they have tried to pry open our front door all this over a late payment guess they don't understand that some people work and that thing's happen.

The raeson we were late on payment was a family emergency happened in Alabama and we were there for 2 weeks and not working wasn't home to let someone in to repossess the item.

I strongly urge you if your getting into the whole rental company's to go elsewhere because on several occasions i have spoken with the owner of the store and he doesn't care and he told me he could care less about my job and my home or family that all he wants is his money.

The Hamiltons robbed me

AUTHOR: EdnRaleigh - (United States of America)

Myrtle Beach case # 12021780   link to report:  http://p2c.cityofmyrtlebeach.com/p2c/QuickResults.aspx?case=12021780

Pages 91-91:  http://www.cityofmyrtlebeach.com/police/Citations_Arrests/90%20Day%20Inmate%20Arrest%20Report.pdf

I was staying at the Admiral Motor Inn on 3rd Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard when my prescription pain medication and silver coins were stolen from my locked room.  Crystal was charged with theft and her husband Brandon was charged with fraud for misrepresenting himself as the true owner of the coins when they sold them at the d**k's Pawn Shop on Joe White Avenue.  Her court date was December 11, 2012.

My coins were recovered and will be returned to me after the police are through with all the court appearances.

Bad Customers Always Blame The Store

AUTHOR: Bob - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 18, 2007

Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton came to us in search of a Desk top computer. Once we verified and approved the rental order, the Hamiltons made their first payment. We then delivered them a Compaq computer, model SR1610NX. The term on the agreement was $19.99 weekly, or $79.99 monthly, for 104 weeks, or 24 months. They also had the option of paying it off with our 90 days same as cash price of $999.99. A very fair price, especially when you consider, that we also have a 4 year product protection program, that is built into the cost. Once paid off, we will repair or replace (with same or similar product at no charge) for up to 4 years. We also offer an early purchase option, which allows the customer to pay 55% of the current balance to pay it off. We also offer free loaners, if the customers product has to be repaired. We offer Free Delivery, Free setup, and we always treat OUR CUSTOMERS, with RESPECT and DIGNITY.

The Hamiltons made their second payment 5 days past their due date, their third payment was 1 day past their due date, and then they stopped making payments, and eventually took off with our merchandise. The Hamiltons paid a total of $62.83 for our computer. They are thieves. We tried to work with them, even after they would not return our merchandise, but they are not good people. If they had stolen something of value from you, would you continue to treat them with respect and dignity? I doubt you would.

We have filed charges with the Horry County Magistrates office, and once we find them, which we will, then we will see the outcome.

Mr. Hamilton inferred that his wife lost her job because of us. That is typical of people who don't accept responsibility for their actions.

He stated the neighbors complained. Their neighbors were the ones that called us everytime they came home, so we could go to their apartment and try to retrieve our merchandise.

What the Hamilton's have wrote is slanderous, defamation of character, and I have forwarded their lies to my attorney. I plan a lawsuit against the Hamiltons.

Lets look at this responsibly, shall we?

AUTHOR: Anthony - (U.S.A.)

I work for Colortyme, and I'm fairly certain my company owns the store in question. First of all, if you can't buy it retail, you rent-to-own it, we charge more because we let you make small payments over a long period of time.

Second, and trust me on this, I do nothing but collect past due payments at my job, people will try to steal this stuff, even the people you would least expect. Guess what? If you don't pay your bill on time, and you don't surrender the merchandise when told to do so by the poeple who own it, you will go to jail for theft.

I 'harrass' my customers who don't pay by calling their home, cell phones, work, family, friends etc. because they avoid my calls and don't pay me. We don't require anything be paid that you don't FIRST agree to, and we also make sure you sign the line that says you understand you must pay on or before your selected due date or return the property.

NOT MY PROBLEM if you don't have enough sense to pay your bills on time!!!

You are right, Brandon,

These rent-to-own folk DO NOT care about your job and your home or family. All they want is their money.

But why should they care about your job and your home or family? Did you demonstrate care when you opted to go the rent-to-own route where you will pay three (3) to four (4) times what you would pay for the same item at a retail store?

Of course buying (for cash) at a retail store would require you to first save some money for a few weeks. So you would have to wait a little while for what you want. But your wife's job could not ever be affected, would it? Maybe you want to consider this approach and avoid ALL rent-to-own companies? Because I suspect that all rent-to-own companies are more alike than they are different.

What do You expect them to do?

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

You say in your post that you were late with their payments and no one was around to contact. This happens to them all the time and they probably7 thought you were skipping out with their merchandise.

They are not the ones to suffer because you didn't pay your bill. Do you have proof that they are the ones that damaged your property?

You seem to think that you are one of those people and the company should carry your burdens for you. If they did this they would soon be out of business. Honor your commitments.
