Before you visit this doctor please check the 5 compaints about him on California Medical Board website. The board is in process of revoking his license and district attorney in california is looking over the files to file criminal charges against Dr Gudeman. Two of his patients have died due to his negligence. PLEASE READ THE REPORTS MADE BY CALIFORNIA MEDICAL BOARD. IT IS A LONG REPORT WITH ALL DETAILS, BUT WORTH EVERY MINUTES OF IT TO READ. Don't take my words, read the report.

My daughter's case will be the sixth one to be added. The board is filing request for the file and he is avoiding to give it to them. But, sooner or later he will have a court subpoena.

He has prescibed thousands of addictive drugs to patients without really diagnosing the patients problem. He was prescribing over 150 Oxycodene to my daughter per week, besides other pills such as Valium, Xanax and etc. All he cares is money.  If I hadn't found out about this killer sooner, probably my daughter wouldn't be alive .Please check on all doctors before you visit them. There are a lot of good ones, but there are few gangsters need to serve their practice behind bars.

Update

AUTHOR: skyler - ()

POSTED: Thursday, December 12, 2013

I have been a patient for three years and I have 15 years clean and sober. I have also run 3 sober living houses. My previous Dr.'s have included  the top Dr. 's at Johns Hopkins like Dr. Mc Hue, Dr. Glentriesman,  and Dr. Brown at the Mayo clinic. Dr Gudaman ranks up there with the finest Dr.'s in the country.

Every case is different, people with addiction issues lie cheat steal and blackmale Doctors and family members to get what they want. Dr. Gudeman was trying to help addicts that were amoung the most difficult cases. People with anxiety, depression and psychosis on top of their addiction issues. Most of these individuals know how to complain and say things to Dr's that trigger different medical proticals. I have seen it time and again addicts using their Dr. to continue their addiction.

It is my opinion that psychaitry is like chemical brain surgery with drugs. A Dr. listens makes a diagnosis and takes his best shot. The person in the first comment is obviously andgry about what they percieve the Dr. did to their family member. However that person was not in the room when the session took place they have no idead  what their family member did and or said to get the Dr. to write a script. Once again a single righteous person takes out their anger and everyone else looses. What an irresponsible a*s. That person has made broad sweeping accuzations about a Dr. that was doing his best to help.  Dr. Gudeman has a great practice this year he has helped more than 1,200 patients this year alone.

The other person filing the complaint has no medical degree, he has not specalized in psychiatry. And he has probably never worked in customer service. If he had worked in customer service he would know that .007 complaints is very low. This is not to minimize the one person that did die of an over dose related to drugs prescribed by Dr. Gudeman. Death is always tragic, in AA we say that each and every chair in the room has been paid for with the lives of three addicts that did not get sober.  The trueth is many people think they know what is best, but when you are dealing with people in earily recovery all you can do follow established proticals and try to easy the transition to soberiety.

Even that is a slippery slope, methidone is not an answer, soboxin barely works and tapering off of pills doesn't work either. Without pier review from a board of practicing psychiatrists we will never know the trueth. The medical board that took away his licence was made up of an obgyn that has'nt practiced in years and testimony was made by psychiatrists that haven't pacticed in almost 20 years.  Yes he probably will not be a Dr. any more and for those 7 family's they will be righteous. But for the remaining 1,200 patients that have been stable, sober, and happy for years we will miss the Dr.

I am coming from a family surrounded by doctors. I am not a doctor, but know how to distinguish between a good and bad doctor. Anyone can read the case brought against him by medical board and can easily figure out what kind of ruthless and emotionless this guy is

I am so glad to see one dishonest doctor not practicing any more.

Dr Gudeman caused death of patient, and only a friend of a doctor can write rebuttal in favor of him. He may have helped few patients before, but to allow a doctor to practice recklessly is too dangerous.

By the way, I attended all court sessions, and all the doctors argued against Dr Gudeman are all in practice and are very reputable ones

A different opinion

Thank you for taking the time to write  mr. Ted C.

I have over the last 18 years gone form one doctor to another, either due to insurance limitations or not getting the adequate help.

DR. david Gudeman, is one of the most compassionate and knowlegeable doctors I've met. He's office is simple, not ostentatious,  his motivation, genuine. These complaint reports I've been reading make me rather sad. I feel that mental patients are often disregarded as they can be hard to treat. Withouth the care of a caring physician, their future looks bleak. You may not know as I did not, but of over 1200 patients treated by him the 7 complaints amount to just over half a percentage point! ( 7 of 1200 + 0.58%)

I'm glad that you and my family both had the oportunity to be helped by him.

I sincerelly pray that he will continue to practice his profession.

Do Your Homework before you see Dr Gudeman

Maybe he did help you. By the way since the attorney general has brough 7 cases against him, he has stopped prescribing narcotics. That's what he should have done long time ago.

Maybe one or two people are wrong, but NOT SEVEN people. There are seven cases against him. It is horrific when you read it. Please visit the California Medical Board website and you be the judge. I hope in September they revoke his license. He should never practice medicine

A good doctor will not write any narcotics medicine the patient asks for. He is supposedly the doctor and must make decision on medicine, not the patient. He does not need to be a mind reader. A good doctor must test the patient and acquire previous medical records of the patient, especially when it involves opiate drugs.

I wish you well, but in my daughter's case for sure he changed her to an addict.

A different opinion

AUTHOR: Ted C - ()

My personal experience has been different. I have been seeing Dr Gudeman for about 4 years for severe depression. My son has also been seeing him even longer for severe Bi-Polar disorder. Dr. Gudeman has given us our lives back and a reason to live. I can't say enough good things about him.

You have to tell him your problems to get right help and the correct meds. I sure you can go see him and lie to him about some problem you have to try and get drugs for your pleasure and abuse. He isn't a mind reader, although he's close to it!

I do agree you should check out a doctor before you see them.
