I am renting a property from Edgewood Property Management in Montgomery County Maryland. They work with Housing Opportunities Commission to fill and manage low and mixed income properties. I am renting at a "market" rate in a community designed to mingle renters like myself who subsidize lower income neighbors.

In January 2017, I recieved a summons to appear for non-payment of rent at the Seneca Ridge community. This is in addition to my problems with repeated personal property damage (my cars have been damaged in the amount of several thousand dollars on the renteded property, including by people I believe to be contracters hired by Edgewood and/or Housing Opportunies Commision). Upon contacting an attorney and proving that I had paid, I was informed the "assistant manager" had applied payments to the incorrect accounts. I have no assurances at this point the actual court case for eviction has been dropped.

\Many of my neighbors received similar notices, which I have never seen before, and it is reasonable to assume the same issues affect them, but many of them are low income renters who likely cannot afford an attorney to defend against the illegitimate and illegal claims filed against them.

Throughout the time I have been here, 8+ months, Edgewood has failed to resolve or even acknowledge chronic issues related to noise, criminal activity and damage to personal property (particularly parked vehicles). It is, therefore, reasonable to assume that they will not resolve the issue they have created related to illegitimate court summons'.

Edgewood Property Management's failure to perform its duties has resulted in myself and others receiving actual notices to appear in court for potential eviction proceedings. It is reasonable to assume that if Edgewood Property Management fails to resolve their admitted errors, disadvantaged renters in Montgomery County will be evicted from their homes through no fault of their own in the dead of winter.
