I've learned about this gas station on gasbuddy.com and I'm highly disappointed in it. This gas station 's prices are always reported there regularly by someone. I believe that person is a station owner.
The lowest prices are always reported first. So, when people search for gas stations in their area, Fastrak station in NE Portland or Milwukie always come up on top.
The prices are only valid for cash payment. When you actually show up, the credit card pricing can be as much as 25 cents per gallon higher.
It's not uncommon for stations to charge 5-10 cents higher, but Fastrak is the only station that has a higher price gap than anyone else in the metropolitan area to bait customers with cash prices and sting them with outrageous credit prices after they've already driven there.
Conveniently, it appears they make every effort to hide credit prices from gasbuddy so drivers can't see what they're getting into.
I feel that this station is using cash prices to attract customers and milking those who pay card.
Charging 15 o 25 cents a gallon more, depending on the day, when nobody else in the area charge moe than 10 cents a gallon more is an indicator of the outrageousness.

Not a rip-off, others must not know how to read.

I travel to this gas station everday, as it is a block away from my house. What this person has reported obviously can not read. They have a big sign advertising the cash price as you would usually see it, right underneath is a sign, if one can read you will see this sign says in big bold letter "CREDIT PRICE" and lists the price if you use a credit card. Then another flip sign like the credit sign says "CASH/DEBIT", right next to the bold letters lists the fee if you use you 'debit card' ***inside*** also right under the price of gas on the big sign shows the debit fee again. When you pull up to the pump every pump has the price of the debit fee again, an when you go pay right on the card machine it shows, once again the price of the debit fee.
So all-in-all if you can read clearly and look around when you get to the gas station and stop ASSUMING you will see that they clearly list any fee/price difference. They are not the only gas station that do it either, there are about 5 fuel stations in our area that do a separate cash price and also have a fee associated with certain types of cards. So please people use the side of the brain that for some reason you turn off when you pull up to the pump!
Also want to include: There is a very easy way to avoid different prices/fees for different payment methods, carry CASH and pay with CASH at ANY gas station you go to and stop complaining about your own mistakes and not being able to read and possibly punishing the independent mom and pop gas stations. All they are trying to do is feed their family like anyone else and btw they get charged differently from the bank on their processing for different cards. So if you make a rip-off report make it about the bank

I'm failing to see the ripoff here. Just pay cash and get the price? there's no bait and switch. You can get it for the advertised price.
