I recently stayed at the MGM Signature hotel for my first time but let me start off by saying that I am a platinum cardholder with M Life resorts and normally stay at Bellagio hotel and I am a frequent traveler to the Las Vegas area. During my stay at MGM Signature hotel I was with my business partner where we work off our laptops as our business is internet based, during our checkout we checked our bags at the bell desk to go grab a bite to eat and came back one hour later, during our return we grabbed our bags and went about our way, when i pulled out my Macbook pro 17 inch laptop there was a big dent on the outside casing and when opened the screen was completely cracked,

note the laptop was in perfect mint condition before I checked and have my business parter as an eye witness. I made an incident report with an MGM officer who was very hostile almost incinuating that I was making a false claim and the bell man got very defensive as well, let me add that to get to an M Life platinum member you have to wager hundreds of thousands of dollars so why would I make a false claim on a $2000 computer?? Wendy Stuesse with Firemans Fund Insurance Company contacted me a day later who insures MGM Signature hotel only to tell me her insurer is not responsible for damages and claim is denied, this only tells me that MGM Signature employees can damage anyones property and get away with it. I will now take them to small claims and take this as far as I can only through principle.

More Hostility

And in your statement sir is about the same kind of response I got from MGM and the insurance company, your hostile tone makes zero sense as you do not know me or my situation in its entirety, in response to your post I never said anyone should bow down to me, here at ripoffreport.com we have paint a picture here for the general public so they can have a decent understanding of the situation, I put that i was platinum member in there so that people can see im not just some degenerate, or some 21 year old kid whos on his first run through the casinos but yet to paint a picture of someone whos been to Vegas a hundred times, has a generous bankroll and has no reason to make a false claim, furthermore I also put in the post that I have an eye witness with an impecable backround with M Life as well who saw that the computer was in perfect condition so im not sure why you are so confused with all my information within this post, I can only conclude that you are somehow affiiliated with MGM resorts or M Life and are upset that this situation is being exposed

Wow...you are a Platinum Member

Seriously..ironically enough I was talking to a friend of mine who worked for a hotel chain(not MGM) and he was saying how their "Platinum/Diamond" members were on average the biggest A**H****s.  Why you ask?  Because they would throw the "I am a Platinum/Diamond Member" at the drop of the hat and if the staff didn't bow down to them and immediately assist them(even if he is with another guest) they would threaten to call their "special number" and file a complaint.

I often thought he was exaggerating how people would try and throw around their status...well that is until I read your report.  So now I guess I owe him an apology.

Anyways...back to your laptop

during our return we grabbed our bags and went about our way, when i pulled out my Macbook pro 17 inch laptop there was a big dent on the outside casing and when opened the screen was completely cracked,

- You have a few problems.  There is no way that you can prove to them that your laptop was not in that shape when you put it in the bag.  Also, it appears that some time(how much is a question) lapsed between the time you got the bags back and you pulling your Macbook out again.  If it is anything more than a few minutes there again is no way you can prove to them that this didn't happen after they gave you the bags back.

let me add that to get to an M Life platinum member you have to wager hundreds of thousands of dollars so why would I make a false claim on a $2000 computer??

- Actually the better question is why wouldn't a Platinum member do that?  It seems as if you got shocked that they didn't instantly bow down to you.

I will now take them to small claims and take this as far as I can only through principle.

- And in Small Claims the judge will ask exactly what I pointed out here.

Oh by the way I looked at how much you have to spend to get to a Platinum Member..it is 200,000 points.  Perhaps if you were at the NOIR level they would have handled you differently.
