I was one of the first individuals to file a Rip-off Report about My Perfect Credit. After I cancelled my debit card and got a new card, I thought that would be the end of this matter, but I too have been getting automated calls from First Credit on my cell phone voice mail. I called First Credit twice and asked them to stop contacting me since I dispute the alleged debt.

Both reps I spoke with were very rude and refused to give me their name or the address of their company. They also told me that ceasing to contact me "was not going to happen". I found the address of their company by doing an internet search, but the only thing the search led me to was the rip-off report web site.

That was my first clue that First Credit is a fraudulent company. I have filed a complaint against them with the Federal Trade Commission. For all those who are still being harassed by First Credit, I would say, "just be patient". Since their have been a mountain of reports filed here in the last month or so and many complaints filed with federal and state agencies, I think First Credit of America and My Perfect Credit probably know their days are numbered and are aggressively trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of their victims before their scams are finally put to an end.

The calls to my cell phone have still been coming in every day, but I watch my caller ID and just let them go into voice mail. I then just simply delete the voice mails. It has always been my practice not to answer calls in which I do not recognize the phone number. But I suggest that no one give in to them and pay them money.

First Credit uses harassment and fear tactics to try to get money out of it's victims, and from my experience and from the rip-off reports I've read, First Credit wants to do business ONLY by phone, which means you've got to give them a card number or checking account number over the phone. That's a very dangerous thing to do since First Credit of America and My Perfect Credit are both very shady companies to say the least.

The NC Attorney General's office sent me a copy of the response from My Perfect Credit on my complaint.

They said my name had been removed from collections and my account had been adjusted to show a zero balance and no derogatory information would be reported to the credit bureaus on me. The AG has closed the file on the case. While I'm satisfied with this, I would have preferred the AG to take a more aggressive approach against My Perfect Credit and 1st Credit of America since both companies engage in illegal practices. My Perfect Credit charges consumers to dispute accurate information in their credit file. Disputing accurate information in a consumer credit file is illegal and constitutes fraud. 1st Credit reps often refuse to give their name and refuse to send written information about an alleged debt and try to entice consumers to pay even after the consumer tells them that they dispute the debt. From this experience, it seems to me that consumer protection agencies don't go far enough to protect consumers from fraudelent companies. Since the complaints on both of these companies on this site have nearly ceased, I'm assuming that everyone has been removed from collections. The NC AG sent a copy of my complaint to the Arizona AG, the postal inspector, and the Federal Trade Commission. And scores of people who posted complaints on this site also indicated that they sent complaints to various federal and state consumer protection agencies; yet both My Perfect Credit and 1st Credit of America are both still apparently thriving since both companies' web sites are still up.

Complaint form on web site is no good

AUTHOR: Danny - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 02, 2005

Yesterday, I attempted to contact First Credit by filling out the complaint form on their web site www.1stcofa.com, but after sending, it bounced back to me, and my email server indicated it was undeliverable. I wonder if they even have a legitimate office or if they operate out of someone's kitchen.
