I have to admit, I'm somewhat new at advertising on the internet. I'm certainly savy as to using computers and plugging my way around the internet and searching for whatever I need at the time. As such, I was performing a web search about how to obtain prospects over the internet.

All of a sudden, Michael Miller, President of Fluent, LLC or Fluent USA or Fluent Agency (whatever they want to go by) telephoned me and started a sales pitch about their services. Mr. Miller then sent me information about how, with their "proprietary and patented" "customer" software/marketing format, that they would have qualified customers contacting me (leaving their contact information on my website for return contact) and at a much higher level (higher %). Basically, they guaranteed more than 10% of prospects would leave their information for me to contact in return.

What I got ever since I have been dealing with them is a FIASCO - a MESS! First, just before the internet advertising campaign was to launch I thought I could use the domain name I already had and just change things over to them however they wanted me to. I worked extremely hard at changing over a Yahoo domain name, account, and email over to them and how they wanted it. However, they then said that I had to set up a whole new domain name. I couldn't use the domain name I already had because of their "proprietary and patented" "customer" software - it just wouldn't work.

This in itself was a mess, I had to find a new domain name that would be applicable to my business. I obviously didn't want to use just any old domain name - I wanted one that would be relevant to the kind of work we do. To get a new domain name they said I should use GoDaddy.com - no problem there - they were great. I went to GoDaddy.com and found and purchased a new domain name along with email ability, etc. Actually, the GoDaddy employee I talked to couldn't understand what and why Fluent wanted me to do this - they said it particulaly didn't make sense! I could use the domain name, email, etc. that I already had - no problems at all. I questioned Fluent on this and they fluffed it off and said "GoDaddy doesn't know what we do here." That was a complete waste of time, energy and money on my part for no valid reason. Every time I questioned them on what was going on they just didn't know what they were doing - it took me hours to change emails, get a new domain name, etc.

Second, while working with them for this new website marketing campaign, I gave them the information as to my old landing page and the adwords I used. In fact, I sent them a copy of the adwords, copies of my landing page, everything.

Third, once your new campaign is up and running with their "proprietary and patented" "customers" software you won't hear from unless you scream and shout - all your really asking them are some questions about the campaign and what they think. It's their "proprietary and patented" "customers" software - they tell you all this stuff when your talking to them. They leave you hanging.

Fourth, bottom line is this: 1) I got a new landing page which doesn't work - doesn't even get the same return I got on my old landing page; 2) They never told me what was going on nor did they themselves know what they were doing; 3) They were inept at what they were doing; 4) Huge expense that I'm not getting a return for; 5) I'm going to be worse off when the 6 months is over because they own the marketing campaign and website - I can't use it (that's their whole reason for all that other stuff).

DON'T, DON'T, DON't use them! Stay far, far away. Put your money into someone else to work on your landing page.

I think your a liar Greg

AUTHOR: FWFreitag - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, February 11, 2010

Greg, your either a liar or clearly you ddidn't have a clue then about what Fluent was doing to it's customers - specifically me anyway.

The reality for Fluent closing it's doors was not the recession - but the failure of the company to deliver a quality product. Eventually the potential customers knew that you were deliverying a less than satisfactory product and service. You just couldn't keep fooling everyone.

Your product stunk! It's just that simple. Your attentiveness to your customers stunk!

Yeah, you can say what you want - but your out of business and that great for the public at large.

If you hit so many "home-runs" for your clients why are you out of the business. Clearly that's an oxymoron statement on your part. You and your companies were failures in delivering a quality product.

It wasn't that I was impossible to satisfy - your company didn't respond.

Again, the only reason I didn't file suit against you was because you were in Florida and I in Pennsylvania. Otherwise, I would have certainly filed suit against you.

I'm very sure you had more than two dissatisfied customers - they just thought you were a flim-flam company and racked it up to experience and walked away. I'm very sure that if I contacted all your customers I would receive plenty of complaints. I almost thought to do that through discovery if I filed suit against your company.

I think the US, Florida, and the advertising industry is better off with Fluent being closed. If you were so viable - why couldn't you get private investors to invest in the company. The reason why is - Fluent was viable for sustaining customers - they could only scam the customers once.

Again He's Using Alot of Smoke Screen to Hide the Truth

AUTHOR: FWFreitag - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, February 11, 2010

Michael Miller is using alot of flowery smoke screen to hide the truth of his outright blatant lies and misrepresentations about his company, the company's abilities, his abilities - just everything.

If he wasn't located in Florida and I in Pennsylvania I would love to have brought a breach of contract suit along with an action for fraud claim.

However, eventually someone will file suit against him - most likely the Attorney General for the state of Florida or another state to protect their citizens.

I will attempt to file a warning against this new company also - just because he's a part of it.

Message from Greg Miller, former Partner of Fluent

AUTHOR: Greg - (Virgin Islands (US))

POSTED: Thursday, February 11, 2010

As I write this post, it will be almost a year since Fluent has closed its doors.  The recession took a big toll on the marketing industry as a whole and because Fluents core customer base was small businesses, we were hit especially hard and forced to shut down.

Although I resigned my position over a year ago and Fluent is no longer operating, I am still deeply upset about this blog, because on its surface it seems to cast Fluent in a negative light.  This is unfortunate because of the great things that Fluent accomplished in its years of operation. It is important to understand the facts and to not be misled by what looks like a cloud of problems.

While it operated, from 2002-2009 Fluent created and delivered paid search solutions to more than 2000 clients around the country.  Each solution was a custom creative project that required hundreds of man-hours.  Our process involved a team including a creative director who developed the client strategy, a writer, an art director, a motion graphics animator, a web developer, and an account person. It generally took 6 to 8 weeks to create and deploy the solution and the price ranged from $8,000 to $14,000 depending on scope.  The deliverables were rich, multimedia commercials that ran on landing pages driven by dozens of strategically deployed ad campaigns.  Our solutions generated significantly higher conversion rates than the industry average because of the high production value and the tracking data that drove our strategies.

While Fluent consistently hit homeruns for our clients on a level unmatched in the industry, the fact is, we are human, and advertising is not exact.  When we did run into an obstacle, it was because markets were continuously changing, and paid search was a moving target.  On the rare occasion that we struggled to find the magic, it was ALWAYS temporary, and NEVER because we dropped the ball on our clients.  We always stood by them; often working late, and doing whatever it took to conquer the challenge and make it work for our clients. For clients that were committed to working with us, we always strived to fix any issues.

That said, there were a small handful of clients that were impossible to satisfy. On this blog there have been three customers who have written negative things about Fluent and two of those have since posted that they have been amicably resolved.  Bill from Richmond, posted a complaint to which he later posted that it was a resolved issue. Michael from Kennett Square, made a post and then later added that it was also amicably resolved. Fred from Pittsburgh, is the one and only customer who was not satisfied with Fluents work.

In the spirit of total transparency, Id like to add that over the course of 6 years and out of 2000+ clients, Fluent had 35 complaints at the Better Business Bureau, 34 of which were resolved by me and reported as such.  The last complaint came in after Fluent was no longer operating and I had already resigned.  Total complaints at the BBB represent less than 1.7% of our clients served and ALL but one WAS RESOLVED.  Still the BBB gives Fluent a bad grade because of the one unresolved case.

So with over 2000 clients served we had 2 unsatisfied client complaints. I want to go on record, for whatever its worth, that I always tried hard and did my best, and at the end of the day, I couldnt satisfy everybody.  But I did satisfy 99%.  And for that Im proud.

The rest of the entries on this blog are people who represent themselves as ex-employees apparently disgruntled for some reason probably losing their job.  All I know for a fact is that Fluents Human Resources record is clean and there have never been any lawsuits brought against the company.

Im proud of the thousands of incredibly creative and effective solutions that Fluent deployed. They all generated high conversion rates and maximized our clients Google advertising dollars.  It is unfortunate that this forum and its high visibility on a web search cast a disproportionate shadow over that track record.

Interesting info on the "spin"

AUTHOR: Nosy Shark - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 30, 2009

The comments posted throughout this string are quite informative. There's nothing wrong with imagining "greatness", or achieving it (as Mr. Miller so painfully boasts about and reiterates in his posted commentary) - unless you are full of "you know what". Those who are, KNOW who they are...

I find it interesting that not only have the Millers been reportedly ripping off customers for big bucks (and, shafting former employees, as well - per the comments posted), but that the nebulously-explained GoDaddy "issue" (registration of usable vs. supposedly non-usable domain names, FOR clients' accounts that have been reportedly sucked in by the "Miller Team") has been addressed and commented upon from several different sides.

So - curiosity is what brought me to look up the Miller's "new" domain name (getmiller.com) - which, BTW, was registered via GoDaddy on July 23, 2008.

Here's what the results of that search provided:

H-m-m-m-m-m-m-m.... look at that... Mr. Miller registered his URL thru GoDaddy!
(I'm referencing this, here, per an above, reported comment from a very unhappy customer who "...questioned Fluent on this and they fluffed it off and said 'GoDaddy doesn't know what we do here' ".

I guess Mr. Miller must have fully explained to Go Daddy personnel and set them straight on "what they do", and Go Daddy "grasped" it. How fortunate that he "taught" them how to operate and function, on his terms...

Now - this info above also makes me wonder who (or, what) "Stone Bullet" is (perhaps a shell or an umbrella corporation?), and why the "street" addy is a P.O. Box for Stone Bullet and for Miller Partners' (as listed on their new website) as well? Phone numbers differ from the phone number listed on the Millers' website as well. Again, h-m-m-m-m-m-m-m... Food for thought...

Are the Millers scammers? Maybe. Are they totally "Type A", "heavy-hype" sales pitchers who perhaps drink too much Red Bull? Sure seems so. Some people seem pretty po'ed at them, and from the reports and comments here, the complaints seem quite valid.

Are the Millers "good" Moneymakers, blowhards and arrogant? Sure seems so (via my own experience in having met one of the team of Mr. Millers. I was not impressed, and actually, turned off by Mr. Miller's "pitch" and blatant arrogance).

Maybe this info above will help some of those who have posted here to further investigate and arrive at solutions they may be seeking.

Ex-Employee here...

I think many of these bloggers should further educate themselves on the subject matter and the practice of this field before they begin typing. This blog has confusion written all over it.. For example, GoDaddy themselves are well educated on the reasoning behind not using the same domain for multiple sites.

I challenge all "bloggers" to do adequate research before posting something in writing online that could cause damage and harm to another person.

Mike Miller and Greg Miller now operate GETMILLER.COM but are still con men.

AUTHOR: My Conscience - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 02, 2009

Yes. I am a former employee of Fluent and I KNOW FOR A FACT that the Millers are scam artists. As Anonymous said, Mike Miller is fooling nobody. Although I LOVE his dissertation on "greatness" !!! What a crock but it makes for a funny read.

Mike Miller is an egotistical maniac who uses his obnoxious sales skills to liberate desperate business owners from their hard earned money. As a former employee for several months I personally witnessed between 75 and 100 customers pay about 10K dollars for a product that never really existed. These guys ran a boiler room sales operation that made them alot of money.

These guys are 100% pure scam artists. Don't risk your money paying them a penny.

Be sure to read all about these guys on their new website www.getmiller.com. It's good for a laugh if nothing more. And you have ever been ripped off by these guys, please keep posting. You might even want to send them and their new team an email or two describing your disdain for their con.

It is a beautiful thing that the power of the internet and open communication forums like this can overcome a very slick scam operation who relied on the internet to steal from honest people.

Just take one look at the thread about Fluent and the Millers on Topix. Just do a google search for Fluent Scam Topix and you will see another list of people there who have been ripped off by these guys. You might actually enjoy the posts of "support" from bogus Fluent customers.

Be well.

Oh and a few more things:

Hi Mike! I know you read these posts. Do you still make believe you are selling to customers with your phone unplugged? Hahahahaaaaaa. You have no idea that almost everyone on the sales team knew you had your phone unplugged while faking sales calls...it was true comedy at it's best....what an idiot. I get a real kick out of fools like you who think they are smarter than everyone in the room. News flash! Your not. We just put up with your silly theatrics to make some cash.

And Greg.... you should be truly ashamed of yourself. You are a very talented guy and I always believed that you tolerated the tactics of your brother because you pitied him in some way. Maybe I am giving you too much credit but I believe you could do great things for clients. Too bad you have disgraced yourself and ruined your professional reputation. You deserve every bit of grief that you have coming from stealing from hard working people.

Spin & damage control, Mike Miller is fooling nobody...

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 27, 2009

Mike,

Please spare us all the speech on how much you care. There are too many legitimate posts on this forum from REAL customers and ex-employees (not competitors, as you so quickly state) that prove nothing could be further from the truth.

Your condescending statements that the only reason so many people are posting negative comments about your company is because they have not achieved greatness like you, and are disgruntled competitors, are farsical to say the least.

If your idea of greatness is selling a bait and switch product and treating both clients and employees like trash as I have seen with my own eyes, then I am sure we can all agree that you have fallen well below the grade as far as what the dictionary definition of the word is!

I am not a competitor, I am an ex-employee who witnessed first hand the company's way of doing business. My sole goal in posting here was to expose the truth about your company in reaction to the countless clients of yours posting negative experiences, some of whom I personally sold to! If just one potential client read these posts and avoided another bad experience with Fluent USA or Miller + Partners then these postings served a valid purpose.

While I would agree with you that the internet opens up the potential for inacuracies and half truths, I think it should be yourself who should be more honest with how poorly your company operated as I personally recognize 3 posts from customers that I sold too!! Oh, and they did not exaggerate in any way shape or form, just told their story as they experienced it, much like I am doing right now.

As for your random statements about terrorists shooting people and getting caught, your scare tactics are no more than just that - scare tactics. You and I both know that the people posting in this forum are not competitors but simply hard working people who purchased your product and were unhappy with both the product and the way the company and yourself treated them. You and I also know that nobody posting here in this forum has been "discovered" by you and prosecuted. If that was true, myself and a couple of other ex-employees who have posted our experiences might actually be concerned.

It certainly appears from your last post that nothing much has changed over your way. Damage control is still in full effect. I guess labeling everybody posting on this forum as less than great, unscrupulous competitors and even suffering from mental illness comes easier to you than simply being honest with yourself, learning from these experiences and making the necessary changes to make sure it never happens again.

I wish you and your new company "Miller + Partners" all the best and I sincerely hope that nothing but positive reviews come from your new customers in the future.

A response from the President

AUTHOR: Michael Miller - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 26, 2009

Greatness is not a term many will come to know or achieve, however every day I plan my day focused on achieve it.

Starting by providing a great amount of love and care for my family members and friends, a great and fun workplace for my employees and co-workers and a great product to our very important customers.

However being able to deliver on the promise of greatness demands a very strong commitment to it. It requires strong leadership, and an even stronger willingness to continue to deliver without compromise even when the world seems upside down.

It is not easy, to model your life around a greatness model, it always seems easier to take a short cut, but short cuts usually end up just that. A short cut to the end.

Some people just cannot imagine greatness, they have never experienced it, do not believe in it, or simply prefer to take, and look for short cuts. I guess it's just a lifestyle. And some of the jealous short cut people even set out to try to destroy those achieving greatness.
Perhaps they are driven by envy, jeoloucy, or even mental illness. Unfortunately they feel cheated that they have not achieved much in life and are committed to enrolling others into their club of misery.

The internet has provided an easy to use tool for these people to hide behind, and suing the cloak of anonymity they spit their poison at those they are envious of.

It's easy to write slanderous hurtful statements and post them anonymously on the internet. It is the same cowardly approach a terrorist would use to harm innocent people.

It's like the guys that hid in the trunk of the car with a rifle and shot at innocent people. The shots were fired and people were hurt. And the people doing the shooting thought that they could get away with it since they were hidden in the trunk of a car.

However just like those 2 terrorists that were caught, we have been able to identify some of the people hiding anomalously posting these defaming, untrue statements and have successfully prosecuted them. They have turned out to be unscrupulous competitors, who were unable to put a great product into the market, so they tried to make us seem less great. We prevailed. And in another case we discovered a past-disgruntled employee, who we later found out had an unfortunate long history of mental illness.

My pledge to my Family, my Company, my Co-Workers and my Customers is to continue to seek ways to demonstrate greatness. As a company, our work speaks for itself. No one can take that away from us. As a person, if you know me, you know I am one of the most generous caring people; always putting others needs in front of mine.

For those looking for a short cut to success, trust me, Greatness is the shortcut. Devote some energy in a positive direction; you will be glad you did so.

Sincerely,

Michael Miller

Fluent's new company name, address and phone No.

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 19, 2009

I am an ex-employee of Fluent USA and I'm responding to the previous post by another ex-employee regarding where Fluent is now, along with the two brothers in crime running the show - Mike and Greg Miller.

For those that aren't aware, Mike and Greg Miller recently closed Fluent's doors due to poor sales, an ever increasing list of unhappy customers and numerous other reasons.

They have now opened up under a new name - "Miller Partners" and have moved their offices to:

7351 Wiles Rd Suite 207
Coral Springs FL 33067
Ph: 954 369 2230

There web address is:

http://getmiller.com/
This new website even includes profiles and photos of both Mike and Greg Miller and of course over-inflated resumes praising the stella work they have done in the industry!

I recently spoke to an ex-employee who had to beg the company for over month to receive his tax statement for 2008/2009. Even though he earnt over $30 000 in wages, the statement stated only a few thousand dollars?? This happened to other recently fired employees too. Clearly this company and it's cronies are cooking the books among their many other exploits.

One can only hope that they have learnt a lot from their disgraceful treatment of both clients and staff and turn over a new leaf. However, based on my experience with them as an employee, I find it very hard to believe they will change anything. After all, a leopard can't change it's spots!!

POSTED: Wednesday, March 11, 2009

It does appear that Greg Miller and Mike the scam artists who ran Fluent have finally been put out of business by the very tool that they used to con people out of their money. The power of the Internet has come back to bite them!

To the ex-employee who posted that they have set up shop, I would urge you to findout under what name they are operating so we can expose them again.

As a former employee who was inadvertently involved is the scam, my conscience will be clearer if I continue the pressure on these scumbags.

Please post any and all information you find on these guys.

It might be as easy as searching for "leads" or "mlm leads" or any variation of that to find them. If they are doing something similar, they will be one of the sponsored links on google.

KEEP FIGHTING TO NAIL THESE GUYS. GREG MILLER AND MIKE MILLER ARE CALLOUS SCUMBAGS. Oh and that twit Matt DiMaio who managed the sales team is no better. He is the "entertrainer" and a scam artist as well.....

I worked for Fluent for a short period of time, but that was all the time necessary to see the scam this company was. At first I was excited by Mike Miller (Co-owner along with his brother Greg Miller) and his explanations of what his company did for it's clients. Bold statistics were thrown about that 95% of their customers were having tremendous success with their flagship product - "Customer AQ" - which was nothing more that a glorified landing page at an inflated cost of just under $10 000.

Within months this price rose to over $13 000 with no difference in the product.

After only a short period of time I soon discovered the company and it's operators were shady in every possible way. Unfortunately, Mike Miller scammed me in to believing his product would allow users to literally have hundreds, even thousands of potential customers contacting them, just as the majority of the company's clients are lead to believe. The sales reps are coached by Mike Miller to present the product and reel in the money for the product. Mike Miller is a phenomenal salesman, but also incredibly rude, arrogant and apparently cares little about anyone of his clients or employees. Employees didn't last long. The company churned through sales reps and it's no wonder because it wasn't paying reps what they were owed . I was personally owed a considerable amount of money and only after a lot of investigation and negotiation with Mike Miller did I get just a small portion of what I was owed. Mike Miller and the company did their best to hide when companies were paying to prevent sales reps from claiming their commissions.

After witnessing the great majority of Fluent's customers call in and email their complaints and problems after they had paid, it was time for me to leave the company. The way Fluent, and in particular Mike Miller, dealt with these customers was despicable. I was shocked by his absolute disregard for professionalism and decency. All that mattered to him was sales reps selling the product and once a customer paid he never wished to deal with them again.

I know of one sales rep who had sold to over 100 companies and well over half of them were calling the company livid with what they had received. He was always battling with his conscience about this fact.

Last I heard Mike and Greg Miller closed Fluent's doors in Deerfield Beach, Florida and are now operating a similar advertising/sales generation product under a new name.

My advice is to stay well clear of these 2 gentleman.

Former employee of Fluent Agency

As a former employee I can say to anyone thinking of buying thier program. Stay far away from this company as they are flat out liars who ripoff customers by preying on buisnesses who really need innovative ways to generate quality leads. These guys are a polished act and a total scam. Its a boiler room atmosphere and the sales force is duped just like the clients. The average rep is there for 2 months and then they get another sucker who buys into their B.S. Beware.
