It all started with a 90 minute presentation invitation received by mail. It promised 2 free round trip airline tickets with hotel
stays. Taxes and processing fees turned out to be almost as much as the prize?  We were sucked in by this professional com man and his group of scammers.

Went to the presentation with my wife and daughter. The presentation makes these guys almost sound legit. We signed up thinking what he said was real. When we had a moment out of there high pressure sales influence we decided it was not for us. We sent an email to them requesting our refund as the paperwork said we had 3 days to do. The email came back as undeliverable.

We tried to contact them by phone but got many excuses and no one to give our money back. We then went to the office and were told the 3 day thing didnt really mean anything and should be removed from the contract paperwork. They were going to give us seven days. They again showed us the web site which worked really well in there office with them running the keyboard.

We relented after some more high pressure salesmanship and returned home. Upon trying out the web site at home there were many parts of it that did not function well. Links that went nowhere and photos of destinations that were the same in the Bahamas and Florida and Rio and Spain and.etc. You get the idea. We then attempted another email to request our money back. They said it would be workingNot true. Email still came back to us. All the sudden when we got ahold of them the 3 day period now applied and we would not be getting our money back because of it.

These guys are very good at scamming people. Please be aware and do not go to the presentation. We fell for it and now will end up paying for it.

Travel Awards SCAM

AUTHOR: agitated - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, November 11, 2012

My wife and I recently went to the 90 minute presentation.  We received a postcard in the mail saying that we would receive two airline tickets anywhere in the U.S.  We went expecting there to be some strings attached and to get some amount of pressure to buy things.  What we got was false advertising in the postcard (you can't go anywhere in the U.S., only there selected handful of cities), really a not very good deal on what they do give you (with all the processing fees, taxes, "agency fees", etc., etc.) and ultimately a waste of our time sitting there, driving there and having to type this email.  After reading Joes complaint I am extremely glad we didn't sign up for any of their products.

In response to the owners response, it sounds to me like he is trying to pass the blame onto the other companies he works with ("We do not fulfill the memberships IDS does", "Regarding the promotional trip: all promotional trips are purchased through a third party vendor").  His statement that "Everyone that is invited to our presentations is told in writing that there are processing fees and taxes they will be required to pay in order to use the travel certificate...", forgets to mention the fact that you aren't given this information (in fine print), until after the presentation.  Nowhere is this stated prior to arriving at the presentation.  Additionally you can't get any real information from the marketing lady on the phone who as a third party doesn't really have detailed information.  I asked her all of these things and she just said what I wanted to hear to get me to go there so she could get her commission.

My suggestion to LaBella is, if you are really trying to provide a good product then get a handle on who your partners are (IDS and your marketing company), because ultimately you are representing each other as a service to the customer.  I for one know that you already are aware of all of these things and continue to try and fool people, so go F*** yourself.  My suggestion to the public is to stay home.

LaBella Destinations is a distributor for IDS. We sell a software license for a product that saves consumers $$$ in almost every aspect of there life. We do not fulfill the memberships IDS does. In regards to the membership/site issues; IDS is in the process of a mulit-million dollar site upgrade and that is why some tabs do not work. This was explained to them prior to them signing a single document. As an added benefit there is a concierge phone number they can also call for all their needs. IDS is a very reputable company, feel free to do some research at IDSdiscovery.com. The only way someone would not get a refund within the 3-day rescind period is if they access the product and it states it very clearly in the contract this fact and each member signs agreeing to this. Regarding the email issues, I can only suspect they are emailing the wrong email address because we received emails without issue constantly. Regarding the promotional trip: all promotional trips are purchased through a third party vendor. Everyone that is invited to our presentations is told in writing that there are processing fees and taxes they will be required to pay in order to use the travel certificate, $500 for a week long vacation is a great deal for hotel and accommodations. Unfortunately, we cannot make everyone happy, but we do our best. If that is not good enough, than I am sorry for the way they feel. The product we sell is real and works great, if they were having so much trouble, it would have been nice to receive a phone call so we could help them. We do wish the best for our customers and are concerned when they are not. I do wish this customer the best. If there is anything we can do to help them, we are always willing to do so.
