Most stories of people being conned on the internet carry the admonition “buyer beware”, but the case of Leo Olsen shows that sellers too can be at risk from unscrupulous traders. Mr Olsen has been fighting since early 2013 for a San Francisco jewellery trader to honour her promise to purchase a rare “Georg Jensen” necklace and belt buckle.

Jensen, who lived from 1866 to 1935, developed a word class reputation as a silversmith. His Art Nouveau designs proved exceedingly popular and his business rapidly expanded beyond Copenhagen; before the end of the 1920s he had opened retail outlets in New York, London, Paris, Stockholm and Berlin. Since then dozens of designers, most of them Danish, have produced jewellery under the Georg Jensen brand. When new, these pieces are sold by company stores or, in places such as Australia, through high end retailers such as David Jones. Pieces bearing the Jensen name are highly collectable, and often sell for large sums.

Unfortunately, once the jewellery is put up for re-sale there is no accreditation of dealers, and as a result many businesses have set themselves up as Jensen “experts” despite having no connection to the Copenhagen business nor to its worldwide network of stores.

When Leo Olsen turned to eBay to sell his Georg Jensen necklace and belt buckle he expected it might sell privately, to a collector such as himself, but was pleasantly surprised when the winning bid – for $6,145.80 – came from Gallery Nine Two Five, a California business which represents itself as “specializing in 20th century silver, featuring Georg Jensen at the head of the collection”.

Having received payment through eBay, Mr Olsen duly packaged his items and shipped them to the gallery. It was then that his problems started.

Gallery Nine Two Five owner Rachel Prater claimed that the items were received in a damaged condition, though acknowledged they had been well packed for shipping. She used eBay’s internal dispute procedure to request a refund; eBay wrote to Mr Olsen in April, calling him an “outstanding buyer and seller on the site” and noting that he’d bought and sold 62 items since 2006 without any issues. However the auction site said that, since Ms Prater disputed that the description matched the item she’d received, the simplest resolution was for her to return the necklace and belt buckle to Mr Olsen, and Mr Olsen refund her money.

While he had no doubt that the items he’d sent weren’t damaged, Mr Olsen did so, paying the refund before the package arrived from San Francisco. And it’s at this point that the story takes an unusual turn. Generally, buyer and seller would go their separate ways; Ms Prater able to buy jewellery from someone else and Mr Olsen at liberty to sell his necklace and belt buckle to a different buyer.

But what Mr Olsen got back wasn’t his necklace at all. While he says the belt buckle is the one he sent Ms Prater, the necklace is a look-alike, in a slightly different colour – a fake, he claims. And sure enough, it shows signs of damage – dents to the silver in two places and small chips in the coloured enamel.

It seems Gallery Nine Two Five sent Mr Olsen a different neck ring to the one he’d sent them, retaining his to on-sell while saddling him with a copy worth much less than his original.

Since then, Leo Olsen has tirelessly campaigned for justice, hampered by the distance between Perth and San Francisco, by the different legal systems in both countries and by the fact that, at around $6,000, the dispute is about an amount large enough to represent a sizeable loss to the Olsens but hardly enough to justify hiring a US attorney to pursue. “I’ve tried,” he says ruefully, “but they all want 10 or 20 thousand dollars [in their trust accounts] before they’ll even start”.

eBay, understandably, say they’re not experts in verifying the provenance of jewellery and simply applied a hard-and-fast rule: if the buyer complains the item received doesn’t match the description, the easiest solution is that they get their money and the seller gets their item back to try again.

He’s also filed a complaint with the WA Police – who say it’s outside their jurisdiction – the ACCC and with a US government agency, the Internet Crime Complaint Centre (IC3), a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C).

Strangely, Mr Olsen even complained to the Better Business Bureau, of which Gallery Nine Two Five is a member. The BBB claims it “sets standards for ethical business behavior and monitors compliance”, giving its member businesses a ranking based on a number of factors, including the number of complaints received. Mr Olsen has a copy of the complaint he sent to the Bureau, yet the BB website gives Gallery Nine Two Five a “AAA-“ rating based, amongst other things on there having been “no complaints filed with BBB”.

Australian media have become interested in the case, with local News Corporation paper The Sunday Times running a piece on the issue. “They satisfied themselves that our complaint was truthful before they’d run the story,” Mr Olsen points out. He has also taken to the internet to tell his tale to other would-be buyers and sellers via sites such as Scamwatch and The Rip Off Report.

The Olsens, who are retired, have photos to prove the jewellery they sent to Gallery 925 is not the same as that received after they’d refunded Ms Prater’s money, and have offered to swear affidavits to that effect, and verifying the pieces they sent were in perfect condition. “eBay advised us to wait for the items to arrive and then to inspect them over the following three days before paying the refund,” Mr Olsen admits. “But that’s not how I do business. The buyer wasn’t satisfied so I gave her money back, and in return I thought we’d get our necklace”.

While Mr Olsen was happy with the original bid of just over $6,000 he puts his losses at between US$10,000 and $12,000 – the amount he could have sold the piece for in the United States, where Georg Jensen jewellery attracts high prices. “We just want back what is ours,” Leo Olsen says. “We’ve spent over a year now trying to pressure Ms Prater to return the original items we sent her. She can have what she sent to us back, it’s worthless. She already has her money, all we want is our property back”.

Meanwhile Ms Prater, while maintaining her innocence, seems to have shut up shop on eBay – Gallery 925 is no longer a user. Mr Olsen initially closed his eBay account, upset with the outcome, but has since re-opened it. Again, he has received 100 percent positive feedback since December 2013.

It is the message from EBAYClaim department where they ruled in favor of me, the CONSUMER who received defective mechandize from Leo Olsen.   Mr Olsen had ample opportunity to prove his case and he did not. Further to my previous correspondence with you, I am writing to provide additional detail with respect to the fraudulent activity of Gallery 925, which is owned and operated by Rachel Prater.

On 23 March 2013 I sold a Georg Jensen silver neck ring and buckle (code No 238) to Gallery 925 via EBay for the price of US$6145.80. Payment was made and held in my PayPal account, pending clearance.

The items were securely wrapped in bubble wrap in such a way they could not be damaged, and posted via registered post to Gallery 925’s San Francisco address.

Shortly after receiving the item the buyer, Rachel Prater, contacted me via EBay to advise that there was a chip on the left hand side of the neck ring and asking for a refund of the money.

Acting in good faith, I reversed the PayPal payment to Ms Prater on 14th April. On 18th April I received the returned items, realising that the items received were not the same items which I had originally posted. The blue colouring of the neck ring was completely different to that which I had posted.

The item originally sold to Ms Prater was of the same style as a belt buckle and bracelet ensemble (code No 238) which is currently in my possession. In comparing these items to the neck ring returned to me I can clearly identify that it does not match the other pieces, being lighter in colour. Two of the flower pendants from the neck ring have been swapped with two other pendants. I have attached photographs of all pieces for your information.

In follow up of the alleged fraud I have reported the matter to the Western Australian police and the Californian police. I have also reported the alleged fraud to EBay who claim that as the transaction has been completed and the payment reversed, they are unable to investigate it.

I have also attempted to expose Gallery 925 on various consumer websites such as Ripoff Report, Review Talk and Sitejabber, some of whom have taken their own action to alert consumers to Gallery 925.

The purpose of this letter is to ask BBB to further investigate alleged fraudulent activity of Gallery 925 and Rachel Prater. I would either like the original piece of jewellery returned to me or the full amount of $6145.80 paid to me. Also, given that Gallery 925 website uses the BBB logo to endorse the business, BBB may wish to consider the appropriateness of this in the light of my experience with Gallery 925.

The facts: I purchased two very rare items, a Georg Jensen neck ring and belt buckle with blue enamel described in "mint" condition for $6,145.80. (click or hover mouse over #1 image) Upon receipt and close inspection, both pieces of jewelry had visible damage. (images #2,3,4,5) I contacted the seller immediately, emailed images of the damage and requested a return for a refund. He flat out paid up: 14-4-2013, due to his honesty, and rather than assume responsiblity for his inaccurate description, he accused me of switching the neckring?, "I got the colour code wrong due to wrong glasses" ! The fact was the 0 items were damaged and this preposterous allegation was overt intimidation and complete divertion of the truth. The seller had his money and was intent on forcing the sale anyway he could. Left with no other option, I opened a claim and submitted my evidence to Ebay's Hi-Value Claims Department. Ebay recognized that the seller's listing image was deceptive. The gift box covers the exact location of the chipped segment on the neckring, after we did some work to it, and the upright positioning of the belt buckle hides its damage. The seller in turn was unable to produce one single image of either piece to prove the claimed condition as "mint" prior to sale. He even posted an image he downloaded from a 2011 auction (Leonard Joel Australia) which he claimed was the right colour code . ( image #7 ) In the end, the seller's only available strategy to win the case was to viciously accuse me, his buyer, of wrong doing.

Verdict and aftermath:  Ebay did not know there was committed a crime! Seller  guaranteed my refund upon return of JEWELRY, THERE TURNED OUT TO BE  FAKE!  Their rulings are final from GALLERY 925 and do not allow appeals. WE MAKE UP THE STORIES ON THE RUN!!!. I returned the goods as pictured (image #3  #6  ). Even before receiving his two defective items, this person began his threats and on-line libel anywhere he could, including stalking me and my colleagues on social media sites . He has used up to 8 aliases, pretending to be customers making similar erroneous claims. As a result of his libelous rants, he was bannished for violation of terms ( abuse) on a number of  sites. Unfortunately there are a few honest "smeary" complaint sites that permit unfiltered, unmonitored complaints, resulting high in search engine results under a search of my company.

While I am anxious to put this terrible episode behind me, I believe this statement was necessary.  Any thing that lights up will require a battery. If you simply purchased this and went to loading your luggage without checking the batteries, how is this thier fault. YOU could have weighed your bag at home on your bathroom scale. Yes it SHOULD have lit up for you, but more often then not the batteries you recieve from the manufacturer are the absolute lowest quality batteries around. Gallery 925 maintains a small presence on Ebay. I have had a membership since 2004 and 100% positive feedback, both buying and selling. Mostly I have had good luck and enjoy lasting trading relationships with a number of its members. That said, conducting business on Ebay has its risks, and for this reason I am taking the time to write this statement about on-line fraud for which my company was the unfortunate target.

In March of this year, what started as a legitimate purchase of a rare Georg Jensen ensemble on Ebay,escalated into an on-line defamation campaign against me and my company by an inexperienced, disgruntled Ebay seller, from Perth, Australia. 

The facts: I purchased two very rare items, a Georg Jensen neck ring and belt buckle with blue enamel described in "mint" condition for $6,145.80. (click or hover mouse over #1 image) Upon receipt and close inspection, both pieces of jewelry had visible damage. (images #2,3,4,5) I contacted the seller immediately, emailed images of the damage and requested a return for a refund. He flat out refused, and rather than assume responsiblity for his inaccurate description, he accused me of switching the neckring ! The fact was the 2 items were damaged and this preposterous allegation was overt intimidation and complete divertion of the truth. The seller had his money and was intent on forcing the sale anyway he could. Left with no other option, I opened a claim and submitted my evidence to Ebay's Hi-Value Claims Department. Ebay recognized that the seller's listing image was deceptive. The gift box covers the exact location of the chipped segment on the neckring and the upright positioning of the belt buckle hides its damage. The seller in turn was unable to produce one single image of either piece to prove the claimed condition as "mint" prior to sale. He even posted an image he downloaded from a 2011 auction (Leonard Joel Australia) which he claimed was his "perfect" neckring. ( image #7 ) In the end, the seller's only available strategy to win the case was to viciously accuse me, his buyer, of wrong doing.

I cannot offer a compromise because this complainer is accusing me of a crime I did not commit. Please note the inconsistent nature of his complaint. IN his most recent post,Leo Olsen is mis-representing facts once again. He now describes a neckring with 4 pendants?

Facts:

The Purchase I made from Leo Olsen eBay seller were two separate items listed together on ebay. A neckring and a belt buckle. I paid 6145.80 ( See original listing)The seller provided only one picture of said items in his listing and described in mint condition. Leo shipped these two expensive items with no insurance against my wishes and eBay rules. They arrived 15 days later .The neckring arrived with  chips  and the belt buckle had a dent. The package did not have any chips in it. The seller mis-represented the items and I contacted him immeditately. He refused to accept the return and began to accuse me of switching his items and calling me a scammer and that he was going to the police. It escalated to EBay HI Value claims department.(Please note listing image shows gift box covering a portion of the neckring exactly where the chips are.)

Mr Olsen has never, once provided any physical evidence the ensemble Necklace and belt buckle were originally purchased together nor  any CLOSE e ups that they were in mint condition and of identical color when shipped.  This  "color" variable can only be seen upon very close inspection, not with the long shot images like his original listing and my return image shown with shipping document. HIs listing picture was mis-leading and any assertion of a swap or wrong color is totally off base.

Mr Olsen has been active in an online defamation campaign against my company making false claims and ending inflammatory links to Rip Off report to my trading partners and people that liked my FB business page. He also had some friends post anonymous false complaints on other sites with erroneous claims, None of these people ever bought anything from my company.

In and effort to stop the harassment, early on, I made peace offering to "repair" said item, siding that perhaps Leo did not notice the damage prior to shipping as it is only on close inspection you could see it. While it would be quite expensive, it is possible as I know several silversmiths in Denmark who have worked at Georg Jensen. He refused and twisted my words. Leo does not want to compromise nor has he shown any efforts to do so I do not have his property, I returned exactly what I received in the condition received.

I have discussed this complaint with a manager and there seems to be some question as to whether this is in the BBB purview.   We do not handle alleged civic or criminal issues.  BBB has a review meeting next week and I believe we will close the case at that time.  I suggest you consult an attorney.

The web site for this business does not show our BBB seal.  I was unable to see where the business is claiming to be a BBB accredited business.  If you can direct me further I will refer the issue to our Trade Practice department    WE STILL HAVE THE PROOF YOU STEAL.  RETURN OUR STOLEN PROBERTY

Hi to all readers,In March I sold Gallery 925 a piece of jewelry, with four undamaged pendants and sent it to Gallery 925 on 23rd March.In April Gallery 925 requested to return the jewelry for a full return of US $6145-80. In accordance with my E-bay refund policy. I refunded Gallery 925 $6145-80 on 14th April 2013 via Pay Pal. I later received a shipment from Gallery 925 on 18 April 2013. Upon inspection of the received goods, they are clearly different from the originally sold goods. Pictures we have clearly shows that Gallery 925 swapped out two of the flower pendants from the neck ring,with similar pendants, but not the same ones! The pictures show that the new pendants I received back are damaged and are a different colour tone than the ones I originally sent!!! The goods I received back fro Gallery 925 are worth far less than the goods I originally sent to Gallery 925. I have refunded Gallery 925 the full purchase price, but have not received my original goods back! I request that Gallery 925 either send me back my original goods OR reimburse me $6145-80 Gallery 925 has been appealing this case since the refund date.  To the owner of 925. I would suggest that you get law enforcment involved in this a soon as you can. I tried being a voice of reason with this Leo person and to be honest, I think you have a certifiable nutjob here. After reviewing your pictures I noticed something. The damage on the blue part of the jewelry is two things. 1. Too small to really be noticable. 2. That the damage on it LOOKS like it was damaged by other jewelry. Look at the size and shape of the marks. This looks like jewelry that was tossed into a chest or drawer and moved around for a few years then brought out. Im guessing here that EBAY did thier own investigation. And as such since you revieved your money back, I can assume that thier findings not only back up your claims, but Leos highly aggresive posts and inability to deviate or even hear anything that he doesnt WANT to hear, means that there is a GREAT chance that this is LEO pulling a scam.

Leo claims he received back two jewelry items on April 22nd.  He also claims he refunded his buyer early by "honest mistake" on the 14th. Thereby eBay claims dept who ruled against him didn't know the outcome? 

FACT: Leo  made HIS complaint with pictures of returned items here on ROR on April 18th.

Furthermore:

eBay knew exactly what was being returned  and so did Leo. Ebay claims dept. determned the outcome ( not Leo) after reviewing physical evidence from both parties.  Ebay determined Leo's eBay listing was mis-described. Why? Leo did not provide evidence that BOTH ITEMS, were in mint condition as described . Upon receipt and close inspection,the neckring had chips and the beltbuckle was dinged.  I paid 6145.80 for goods purchased , as described ,   in mint condition, they were not , and eBay claims dept. agreed. They authorized the return for refund.

Leo's image of the returned items next to shipping label prove the both items were returned and received by Leo.  

Ebay/Paypal guarantees the  refund . They are very serious about these claims. There was a  substantial amount of money at stake for eBay to risk. $6145.80. For that reason, this case was sent to the  "high claims dept " . If Leo had any objection, his time to voice and prove his case was DURING the claim when evidence was being presented. He did not. In fact Leo escalated the case for eBay to make the  FINAL determination,  not me. If there were any possibility to negociate  , Leo eliminated by it by his own doing by escalating the case.

EBay claims dept. rulings are FINAL . Both parties sign off to that rule when the escalation team at eBay takes the case. There are no appeals. It is VERY clear.

Summary:

1)Leo has his own picture as evidence that he recieved the return from the buyer prior to April 18th .

2)The picture Leo supplies of the returned jewelry with label is the same jewelry I received with the exception of the bangle Leo added to the picture.

3)Leo was attacking me and making accusations via emails before and during the return/claim so the "return" would not be any surprise to Leo and certainly not Ebay. His attacks were so vile I reported him to eBay trust and saftey dept.

4) April 17th. Leo claims in an email   "Hi there you better return our Georg Jensen neckring no 238 it will be very expensive for you, if we have to continue, waiting for FBI then there will be other in USA, to take care of your scam, weak up!!!! 5) Leo has "friends" send nasty emails to harrass me, Leo opens a twitter account "olsenlee" "in Malaysia" and sends hundreds of tweets all over to my trading partners, facebook business page  friends as well as business associates. He also posted false claims "anonymously" on a number of other complaint sites "posing" as a customer and saying my company sells junk from China, (  all necklaces) not honoring guarantees, refunds etc etc. 

6) Now, in most recent posts on ROR, Leo is claiming my return is "fake" and damaged and ebay didn't know the result!?

7)Looking at the picture of the return with 3 items and label. They look quite wearable and  damage barely visable. Not worthless as Leo's claim. That said, not worth $6145.80 he wanted to charge me! They were not and are not in mint condition when you see them up close!

8) Leo's original listing (with brown box) It is the only image Leo showed his buyer along with the backside. The frontside image with the gift box covering the damaged area. Deceptive. There were NO OTHER detailed images supplied from Leo. NOT ONE.  The only other picture Leo supplies via ROR of a very blue necklace alone doesn't look like the color of Leo's original listing at all. Why? Because it was taken off an auction house website, It is not "his" neckace he claims I have.

9) Re: Proof of value. All Leo provided on ROR was a  "hold memo" from the GJ store in 1999 showing the price of the necklace at $80. There is no evidence of any recent apprasials, receipts that indicate the belt buckle was purchased together constituting a "matching" set" not to mention a condition report. ie detailed pictures. 

10) The title  of Leo's complaint says Leo has proof. Thus far, Leo has been UNABLE to prove ANYTHING to Ebay claims dept, Scambook or the  Antique Dealers Association California.

 You do realize that given the distances between you two, the odds are great that you will never see resolution to this situation. You can post all over the internet, but it really isnt going to help. I have read every post you have put up about this. let me point out a couple of things real quick.

1. Why does the amount keep going up?? You have the item itself, yet you expect a FULL value on it. That really doesnt make much sense.

2. Much like the crazy man who shouts the world is ending, your posts have taken on that same stigma. You have posted so much inconsistant information. Its really just starting to sound like revenge or stalking. Its less that you want resolution and more that youre out the get 925.

Like I said previously, all the posting in the world is not going to get this resolved. You need to appeal the EBAY ruling. Or you need to retain a lawyer and take this to the courts if you feel you have been slighted. Its obvious that 925 is not going to do as you have asked. No sane business would. Maybe if you asked for an amoumt that wasnt the equivilant of the full price of a new piece of jewelry. Try going around half. When dealing with collectables you need to factor in that its a old piece and you cant ask for its full value unless you can prove that someone else WOULD have purchased it for the price you claim. Second, there is a dispute already on file. With a summary judgment against you. Legally speaking a investigator would look at that and conclude that you tried to sell damaged product. With the ruling against you it would swing any ruling in favor of 925. You need to have a RECENT apraisal from a reputable jewelery store stating not only its condition but at what the appraised value is. This gives you ammo. IF you have that information then you could proceed with legal action.

Little known fact: Every year Lawyers HAVE to do a few "Pro Bono" cases. That means "for free" its part of their service to the community. If you are having trouble retaining a Lawyer, you can call the local Bar asso. and see if there is some lawyers offering pro bono.

 All I can say to this whole situation is that it is sad. If EBAY ruled against this Leo person, then there isnt really much that he can do. And everything that he is doing is falling under Internet Stalking and Internet bullying. Who he should be going after is EBAY. Theyre the final arbitrators in this case. They were the ruling body. Anything else is just showing Leo in a bad light. Especially if the harrasment extends to non involved parties. Such as emails and calls to freinds/family/businesses.

I am 100% sure you feel as if you have been rippedoff. But as I know from my own experiences with shipping companies, they are not as gentle with a package as we would like them to be. Instead of sending emails/calls or whatever. Try having EBAY reopen your complaint. File for an apeal. See if that is possible. Now from all I have read, you recieved your product back. So thats the good news. Bad news is, I would really hate to see you end up in jail over something so simple as this. Tone it down. It doesnt help you ANY if this person can produce harrasing emails. Really doesnt help you if those harrasing emails are going to non interested partys. If they get a hold of those and can present them to a judge, you may find yourself on a plane to CA to face harrasment charges.

I feel you have done all you could. You have followed the buyer/seller process. There was a issue and you attempted in good faith to resolve it. However, this crazy world of ours is filled with nutjobs. Sometimes greater sometimes lesser, but always crazy. That being said, perhaps you need to find a way to resolve the issue to the satisfaction of both parties. I personally dont think that the jewelery that you purchased looks very good in general and would be a piece worn very rarely. Sometimes the best a retailer can do is get that crazy person out of thier life. IF you didnt damage the product and IF Leo is pulling a scam, you need to find a remedy that protects you. IF you feel your life and saftey are in danger, you need to inform the appropriate authorities. This falls into an actual "cyber bullying" case. The US and AU do have an extradition treaty. Do not think that this person is immune. If it is indeed "Bullying" and/or "Stalking" then you need to talk to the police.

To the Both of you I say, Try and work it out. The problem with the irrisitable force meeting the imovable object is that neither one goes anywhere. Obviously THIS isnt working.

He had no other.  THE LATTER IMAGE posted on ROR that LEO provides as "HIS"  missing and stolen neckring was copped of the internet ( LEONARD JOEL AUCTION HOUSE AU 2011)  then LEO cropped it with the quote " return our NECKRING 238LEO's only other evidence was his lady friend signing a "statutory" declaration.  Same person sending me harrassing emails along with her teenage children and Leo's daughter. They wil go unnamed for now.( Rather sad)

I am not here to make judgements but this guy is out for blood and I am very concerned for my safety.

FACT:  LEO"S  evidence. ie pictures. ALL, EXONERATE ME the consumer.  Which is why Ebay ruled in my favor. Leo's IMAGE IN HIS EBAY LISTING "covers" THE DAMAGED AREA of the NECKRING with a box. He had no other.  THE LATTER IMAGE posted on ROR that LEO provides as "HIS"  missing and stolen neckring was copped of the internet ( LEONARD JOEL AUCTION HOUSE AU 2011)  then LEO cropped it with the quote " return our NECKRING 238"

LEO's only other evidence was his lady friend signing a "statutory" declaration.  Same person sending me harrassing emails along with her teenage children and Leo's daughter. They wil go unnamed for now.( Rather sad)

I am not here to make judgements but this guy is out for blood and I am very concerned for my safety.

 I hate to play devils advocate but has anyone in this situation considered that the product MAY have been damaged in transit? If the seller says that they shipped it in mint and the purchaser has said it wasnt, then there is a good chance that it could have been damaged by the company that was chosen to ship it.

Also, this Leo person does seem a tad screwy. There are legal remedys to this situation. Really on both sides.  "Leo" can file for a small claims claim against the buyer IF there was actual damages. And unfortunatly with the growth of internet laws, the gallery has a claim against the Leo person for harrasment. Be it email or whatever. And since this is being done to someone in CA. There is a very good chance that serious jailtime will be involved.

I am very sorry this has happened to you, but I think all of us have had the experience of the  XXXKKKKOOO  client that goes off on you for whatever reason.  It is not pleasant.

Ebay seller ,LEO OLSEN, who lost in a dispute over ebay and is using this website as an act of revenge.

He tried to post on my FACEBOOK business page and started by harassing me to the tune of 20  threatening emails a day with the erroneous claims that I switched his necklace. He contacted my contacts on my facebook page and posted link on their facebook page. He emailed links to this website to my business contacts in the trade of GEORG JENSEN. 

 The EBAY seller LEO OLSEN sold me a very rare Georg Jensen necklace AND belt buckle and mis-represented the condition of said items to be in mint condition.  He shipped the items with no insurance ( although I was charged for this) . The items arrived 15 days later.  The necklace arrived with chips in the enamel and a dent in the belt on the edge. There was no evidence to the effect that these pieces were damaged in transit ( broken pieces etc).  I contacted the seller immediately and said the items were not as described and he refused to allow me to return the items for a refund. I had to resort to EBAY claims department and opened a case. I looked the the original picture the seller had in his listing and realized the image of the necklace had the exact area where the chip was covered by the Georg Jensen box.( see sellers first image with box)  I now believe he was fully aware of this damage otherwise he would have provided detailed images which he did not. After a few heated email exchanges via ebay messages, The seller escalated the claim for ebay to make the determination.  Ebay reviewed my pictures  ( chip and dent in the close ups) and the seller had  ample opportunity to do the same to prove his side. He did not.

Ebay Granted me, the consumer, the right to RETURN for a refund and the case was CLOSED. I followed EBAY's instructions and returned the items insured to the seller and got a refund. Thank Goodness for EBAY and their claims dept! 

 I have warned EBAY and FACEBOOK about this as well.

I have tried to reason with this seller so he would stop harrassing me.

My collegues in the trade suggested I make a peace offering to stop the harrassment, so offered to repair the pieces as a PEACE offering. He refused and continued the harrassment and  erroneous allegations. This is not a reasonable person. He is only interested in defamation.

3. Re: your EBAY listing. Why is the GJ  gift box  covering the exact  damaged area of the Neck Ring in the listing?  You never explained that.



4.  You threatened me before and AFTER EBAY's RULING that my company be granted the right to return for a  FULL refund.



5. Your demand for the "REAL"  GJ NECK-RING  no 238  to be returned.  I returned BOTH items for a REFUND as they were BOTH defective per the Ebay claim. The proof of that return is next to your own IMAGES  next to my return shipping label.    I was refunded for BOTH items as BOTH items were not as described.

I really would not waste your time here. Any ebay seller who refuses to give their buyers any kind of refund demonstrates the level cheesyness over their money. If a customer is not happy with their product then they should receive a refund upon return. But this site is known all too well for defamation tactis and smearfests. People like this will take these rebuttals on forever so just forget what you see here. He has allready made himself look bad.

I should have smelled a rat from the beginning and I should have known better but I was blindsided with the rarity factor of the items. His listing picture was covering the area that had damage on the neck ring. On the belt buckle the damage could only be seen from the side.  He could care less about the customer satisfaction he only wanted his money. He shipped me the items the cheapest way and NO insurance and false value on the customs papers.   WHile I was waiting for these items to get to me he tried to sell me other things and I  declined.

His assertions that the colors don't match is ludicrous. It is his  EBAY Listing photo which is darker because of the light. Everyone who has ever taken a picture can see that colors change with the light source and exposure. The return photo shows the  2 items that I returned plus one the bangle which I did not buy and the color is fine.

This guy has told me so many lies he can't even keep them straight.  First he says he bought the items from a dealer and they were never ever worn and in mint condition. Then he said he bought them from the Georg Jensen store ( they only sell new items) This ensemble is vintage from 1971 and hasn't been made for many years. 

In fact the very identity of this guy is questionable.  He is supposed to be an older retired guy, Danish /Australian yet the way his broken english and mis-use of language and wrong terminology suggest an Asian person with poor English posing as him. Possibly a teenager.

This kind of thing happens on ebay all the time. But I beleive that this is an issue of customer service. Some sellers are in it for the money......even when things go wrong. But this should have been a return with no questions asked and it could have saved many headaches. But in this case you have a seller who does not have a problem with the fact that his customer is not happy and even lashed out with one of his own customers with a ripoffreport. Pretty pathetic.

The reason it show different colour code is: It has been replaced, with your own, damaged neck ring Full stop. We are bringing in the ex. shop owner: of Georg Jensen & valuer, we bougt it from, to assist in this matter 

Anyone can look up the EBAY listing and see the case was closed.  They can see your orginal listing showing that the defective area of the neckring was covered by the Georg Jensen box so you knew the item had damage and you tried to cover it. ebay listing #281082480311 Anyone can tell that your erroneous claims of color mis-match are ludicrous when you have your own picture showing my returns against your   own GJ Bangle which I did not buy and the color match is fine.

 Any normal person who has ever taken a photograph know that lighting can affect colors depending on the time of day and back ground color so your listing photograph appears somewhat darker.

EBAY  Ruled in my favor  based on  evidence.  You didn't have any and I did. Their decision is final . 
You KNEW that when you escalated the case for EBAY to rule.( see your email below) There is no "appeal"after Ebay rules and your assertions otherwise are complete nonsense and a pure a diversion from the facts. You are  just a sore loser who needs to put on glasses before trying to pass off goods as in mint condition when they are not.  

Now that you have diplayed your grievences and I have rebutted successfully we need to get on with our lives.  This is such nonsence . Go sell your Georg Jensen neckring and beltbuckle to someone less picky than me. They are still wearable but not worth the price as if it were in MINT condition.  I would never buy this design model again even knowing how rare they are because it would remind me of your harassments and this entire horrible waste of my time!!!!
