I want to let everyone know that Greenway Van line is now Greenway Express Texas. They have got a new name but have the same old bad business policies. My elderly grandmother needed to come to live in Ohio to be closer to Family. We contacted Greenway Express because they were the best price in town and we had a small time frame to get my grandmother to Ohio as we were selling her house. They gave us one quote if we moved her in May ($1400) or if we waited in June ($4000+). My grandmother had to choose May for financial reasons. Shortly after that a gentleman was to come out and estimate the amount of articles. When he did not arrive my mother attempted contact with rep to find out what was going on and the rep said he tried to call and confirm with her and she hadn't responded. My mother has proof she responded through email more than 24 hours before the appointment as requested. Then rep stated it would be reschedule to which my mom said was unacceptable. When the guy showed up he tripled the estimate to around $4500. By the time of pickup it magically climbed to nearly $7000. Then they knocked off a couple of hundred because my mom helped and $400 for a dryer that got left behind. They instructed my mom on how to fill out contract and did not explain it at all. They were already loading the truck as they had her do this and were rushing her around. They knew our projected delivery date was that Sunday and they gave no indication that it was not reasonable. My grandmother issued them a check for 60% of the estimate. That was on a Thursday, my mom and grandma left Friday morning. My mother received an email stating the truck would leave Friday night or Saturday morning. My mother and grandma arrived in the wee hours of that Sunday. We waited most of Sunday and each time my mother called the voice mail is always full and no message can be left. One time she finally got to dispatch and learned they left supposedly at noon on Sunday. No explanation was given and that it would arrive the following Wed. or Thurs. On Weds we called for a status update, we then learned they still had not left TEXAS!!!! They needed a smaller truck, contract states there should only be delays due to maintenance. Just because they were under booked isn't OUR problem. When my mom stated we wanted a reduction for their lack of delivery of promises, they stated that it would be only $200 reduction and then threatened to dump my grandmother’s things right there! My mother was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Furthermore they decided instead of working with my mother to some middle ground they told her to take it up with legal. Because their bogus contract says they have 21 days to deliver. They all claim to be the supervisor/ owners and there is no real information available about them. They had already cashed my grandmother's check the day after they picked it up. So my mom told them we want $1500 off and if you don't show by the following Saturday it goes to $2000. This Sunday on June 2nd they told my mom that Ohio Transit Authority would not let them through and they were stuck in Louisville, KY due to weather. Later story changed that they were in Tennessee...then no response... Today is now Monday and still no furniture. My grandmother is running out of medication due to the majority of it being on the truck. She is having to sleep on the couch and has had to pay rent on an apartment she can’t live in yet. They are supposed to be in at 12-3pm and we are not holding our breath. My advice is find movers first before contemplating a move like this. 2nd Read contract thoroughly, if they pressure you make them wait any ways you’re the customer. 3rd check with the secretary of state to ensure validity of business existence. As of March 2013, they forfeited existence in Texas yet are operating in Texas.

AUTHOR: Bobby O. - ()

POSTED: Friday, November 14, 2014

I have recently used this company to do a move from Nebraska to California. we went through a 3rd party broker service to book this job. We have had nothing but problems since DAY 1!! Driver was late to pick up our items. Upon arrival, I was told that if the actual weight of my items were less than the quote I would pay less. therefore I would need to follow the truck back to the scale after it was loaded to weigh out. I was also told that if I helped load the truck it would reflect on my bill, so I spent 10 HOURS HELPING LOAD with a bad back, then followed the truck 2 cities away to the scale to weigh out. after weighing out our actual weight was 3900 lbs. our estimate was for 5207 lbs. I was then told by the driver that I would have to pay for the full 5207 lbs. because "that's the company minimum" After arguing with him for 30 minutes I began writing the check. He then informs me I need to make the check out to his personal name rather than a company name and demands I make the check for $2200 rather than the $1100 agreed upon with the company on the phone earlier in the day. I write the check for $1100 and send him on his way. Delivery was suppose to be 10-14 days. I called 13 days later to get an update and was informed my items were in California, however nobody could tell me where or how far out. So I called the next day and was told my items were in a warehouse storage in Texas, without my knowledge or permission. I was told by the man who said he was the owner of the company that he would personally call me in the morning as he is loading the truck with my items. I waited for that call for 2 days. I was then told my items were in the semi truck still in Texas. I called the "owner" and was rudely hung up on numerous times by him and his office staff. today is the 26th day I have been waiting on our items to reach California. I asked for the remaining balance to be taken care of by the company since I have had to deal with so much B.S. and was laughed at. I informed the "owner" he had 2 options, 1 being to have my items to my delivery place by tomorrow as expected, or 2, have his driver take my items to fed ex, pay for overnight shipping at their expense and refund my money. I was told I will not disrespect their company and again hung up on. Now when I call the "owner" and all office phones they refuse to answer the phones and I know they have caller id. I was called by the "driver", who apparently is from yet another company, and told that the items would not arrive until next Monday. i am beyond irritated with this company and have sought out an attorney. I truly hope something is done about this company, they are robbing people of their money and dignity. I would love to get with some other people with the same problems and start a suit against them. Hopefully when my items are delivered they are all there and not broken, however after reading so many reviews on this company i doubt that will be the case. Bobby O.

THE CUSTOMER IS CORRECT

AUTHOR: Rebecca and Jared Howser - ()

POSTED: Friday, April 11, 2014

I used this same company dealt with the same people and had the same HORRIBLE experience with this company.

I just sent Tony an email trying to get him to respond as I have not been able to get them to answer the phone or respond to any of my messages as of late. My problem has been going on since last summer as well.

See my email below:

Tony:

I don't know if you remember me but I moved to Utah this summer and your company packed our things and delivered our stuff in November.

My husband and I called you about your driver dumping our entire load in a parking lot ACROSS THE STREET. WE had to rent a trailer ourselves, recruit friends to help us move our things into our apartment and things of ours are STILL missing...like my brand new king size mattress, a runner rug that cost me $200, samaurai swords that my brother won in tournaments in China. He is now overseas in the Navy and I want my stuff back.

When we called you to tell you what your driver did we were informed by YOU that we would receive a refund and our items would be delivered....but nobody will answer the phone nobody will call us back, nobody is helping us with anything and this has gone on long enough.

Please have Danny call me or if you will that would work too. If you don't I have no choice but to hire an attorney about the matter. I'm really upset that you would treat customers who paid you IN FULL for a service that we didn't even receive. I see I'm not the first customer to have these problems either. The "RIPOFF REPORT" posted online is how I got your email address.

DO NOT TRUST OR HIRE THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE LIARS AND THIEVES!!!

Update Greenway Express Texas

AUTHOR: suzanne b - ()

POSTED: Friday, July 19, 2013

This is an update on Greenway Express Texas

As of this date, my Mother is still missing items due to the movers not taking care and consideration of our items to return them all. They are continuing to not take responsibility for the things they have done and are continuing to do by trying to block our rights to let other consumers know of thier business practices.  They are trying to blame my mother and myself acting as if they are the victum.  They do not seem to understand the issue is that they didn't take care of my Mothers items. They only care about the money. They think just because they have an insurance company to cover loss that is suppose to be enouph. The insurance company can not give my Mother back her keepsakes that were broken and items we heard were stolen from us by the movers supervisor Danny.  There is no price enouph to replace these things and the associated memories. If they don't get that then they are more detatched then I think.

Greenway Express Texas update

AUTHOR: suzanne b - ()

POSTED: Monday, July 01, 2013

I have a update on my situation with Greenway Express Texas Movers

Greenway attempted to get me to agree to remove my negative post as soon as I satisfied with the service. They state they have suffered "stress"  and the reports posted "instills fear in our potential customers". And they stated it " Has been has been both physically and mentally deteriorating on   both parties.". What about the stress of my elderly Mother. If they had done what they promised there would be no negative comments to remove. Greenway is also stating they could have charged my mother extra money for getting the items here in less then 21 days delivered. Greenway exhausted the 21 days and was well past the 21 days at the time the second incomplete load 6/26/13 . Greenway took 33 calender days to get the first delivery, second delivery to us and still items are missing. All this could have been avoided if Greenway had been truthful in the first place. Yet items are still unaccounted for and several things damaged or broken. They refuse to accept responsibiltiy in their responses to Better Business Bureau. But accept responsibility in the email communications with Tony.

Excerpts from email by Tony:

"after the whole move is complete, and you   are satisfied, would it be possible for you to remove most of the negative   reviews you have listed about our company on various websites, as this one   unpleasant move, has caused stress on many of our associates & instills   fear into our potential customers."

"We are a credible   moving company that has been around for a while now, and we just want this to   be behind our rear view mirrors, so that we can move on once and for all, as   this whole process has been both physically and mentally deteriorating on   both parties."

My Mother and I will be looking into other avenues to attempt to get the rest of our items.

Respectively Submitted by SB

Tony,

The movers came and they were very nice.   However, there are some items still missing. Item picture box #126. There is an item #165 he   wrote what looks like "hath". I have no idea what that is to tell   if we got it or not. it is not checked as received. Item# 169, he wrote   "buffr". It is not marks off as received. # 174 he has   "banch", not received. One plastic white chair missing. Page one of   inventory missing. I do have my copy of that page. Also we were told Danny   took a metal cd stand with a lamp on the top. He was NOT told he could have   it. My Mother wants it back. I can send a picture of it if you need it.

Please look for these items.

Suzanne

Hello there Mrs.   Battaglia,

I am sure Sasha   received and has all the necessary information to get in contact with you, he   probably didn't reply because he has couple of jobs in the truck as well, so   I am sure all the customers, are texting/calling..

I can't give a   guarantee on exactly when he will arrive, but I can safely say it will be   closer towards the end of the week, near the weekend..

  Tony,

I texted Sasha on Saturday to make sure he knows to call my cell phone when   he calls. I didn't get a response from him so I would know he got the text. I   expected to get a "ok" from him. But I didn't, so hope he got the   info. Because my cell is the most reliable way to reach me.

How many other deliveries are ahead of us? I need some sort of idea where we   are at so I can sched work accordingly. My boss wants me to give her a   ballpark day. I left Sasha a voice mail this morning and asked him to give me   call.

And was he told he will go to my house and my Mother's? He only has to drop   off the box spring to my daughter's bed and the rest to my Mother's   apartment.

  Thanks

update on Greenway Express Texas

AUTHOR: suzanne b - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, June 18, 2013

My Mother is still without the rest of her items. We are again being told deceptive information and blatent lies. Yesterday my Mother called and spoke with a person named Alex. She asked where were her items. He tells her in the United States and stopping in Georgia first. My Mother told him it has to be here by Thursday when the 21 days are up per the contract.

I emailed Tony at Greenway and this is his repsonse today:

Dear Mrs. Battaglia ,

I am truly sorry to inform you, we do not have any trucks going towards the North East of our nation, therefore we can not send a truck with the remaining few items of your shipment at this current moment. If you want, you may contract another moving company, and have them pick up the items from our storage, and we will compensate for all of the inconvenience.

For further information of the compensation, please contact http://www.csipros.org/ ; and we will go through this process in a professional and timely matter.

We take full responsibility for the delay, and again are sincerely sorry of how this all turned out.

Yours Truly,

Tony

Hi Tony,

This is Suzanne B****.

I spoke with Danny on Sunday 6/16. He stated he could not check on the status of my Mother's things. Which I find difficult to believe. My Mother spoke with a Alex yesturday. His reply to her was the truck is in the United States and headed to Georgia first. Seriously what kind of response is this. The 21st day is Thursday 6/20. I have heard from no one calling to say delivery will be made.

You have left me no choice and I will have to file a theft report with HPD. I have checked with them and they will pursue the situation on my request when I give the go ahead. I would think you would want to resolve this matter and be done with it. But apparently your company would rather spend money on a second trip then the original guarentee that all the items would be recieved back a few wks ago on a truck with just her things on it and coming to Ohio directly to her at no charge.

This is unacceptable since day one. We paid in good faith and we have been nothing but deceived and lied to about status of her belongings.

Sincerely,

Suzanne B****

Response to Greenway Express Texas

AUTHOR: suzanne b - ()

POSTED: Monday, June 03, 2013

Since this company has seen fit to respond to my daughter,s comments which is her right in this country. I am compelled to respond.  I have supporting emails, texts and other documentation to support my daughters comments. I would be happy to down load the documentation upon request these documents.  The above comments by this company are bogus. Today after arrangements and times were given for delivery today no later then 3 PM this day 6/3. I would challenge this company to produce the same evidence to support thier claims. We recieved a call from a person stating he is not the person I have been talking too. He stated because I posted negative comments online he was sending her things back to Texas. He was tryiing to bully me into removing my comments or he would not deliver the items. Holding my 85 year old Mothers items as hostage. The medications were packed error. My Mom had taken enouph medication for the ride to Ohio in anticipation the refills were going to come here in the truck in 2-3 days. I know this is the person I have been dealing with because he gave info in the call that only he would have know. But kept trying to make believe he never did. He has a distinctive accent. I was given the contract about 3 hrs after they started loading. It was about 11 PM before the contract was provided. This move has been set up since 2/2013.  I was told in email by the company representative and verbally in my mothers presence by the estimater items would be delivered in 2-3 days after pick up.

This company has already recived the 60% upfront and the balance is not due till delivery. The person I have been dealing with avoids giving yes and no answers, constantly talking over me. Does not back up his promises and then tries to blame me and my Mother.

All we want is my Mothers stuff so she doesn't have to sleep on my couch since she is physically unable to get even out of without the support of two people.  We are eating on a card table. She is physically and mentally exhausted due to these events.  She is paying rent for an apartment she can not live in due to no furniture. She hasn't got a change of clothes. She can not take a shower or bath because we only have a tub she can not clear the sides of. I have lost money on a u haul so my kids could take some of the items to thier homes. I now had to rent this u haul another day. I have lost wages at my job to try and deal with this to help my Mother.

Respectfully submitted by Suzanne B of Ohio

Regarding the Complaints

AUTHOR: Greenway Express Texas - ()

POSTED: Monday, June 03, 2013

On behalf of Greenway Express Texas, I am responding to allegations regarding the move to Ohio.

For starters, when we told this customer the pricing differences with moving in May and moving in June, we specifically told this customer that this is a Rough Estimate, with no knowledge of inventory, size, etc. Therefore, we sent out one of our proffesional estimaters to go to the property, assess and review all the items that this customer wanted to move, and give a great price on the relocation.

We were sending the items out on to transit, less than 2 business days after we picked up, with several other moves towards the east coast, when we received word from this customer, that vital medication was inside one of the boxes that she packed herself, we had no choice but to recall the 18 wheeler from outside of the state, to come back the Texas, unload this specific customer's items , & to reload them on a expidited truck (We always charge extra, but since it was an emergency, we charge absolutely nothing extra!).

On our contract, that this customer was supposed to read & review, she signed everything from accepting the move to understanding terms, conditions, delivery schedule, none of which this customer was rushed through, because even prior to arriving to the property, we email them electronic contracts that specifically state all of the following I just mentioned. On our very contract, we specifically state the estimated schedule delivery date, which we are well under 2 business weeks of delivery, yet this customer still finds a reason to file a complaint against us.

We have been constant contact with this customer, being nothing but proffesional and courteous, but yet this customer seizes to believe us, assumes we are lying, and will not take a moment to listen. I am very dissappointed the relocation of this customer had to turn out with this result, but we have no part in the fault as we make sure all of our customer's read, review, and understand every part of the contract to the dot.

It is our company's number one priority to satisfy every customer we deal with, whether it's extra accomadation or just excellent service. This customer wrote, and signed/dated the day we picked her items up, that she was very satisfied, but this customer does not seem to be satisfied with our compensations from various discounts, to free expedited shipping;yet this customer always seems to be needing more and more which we clearly can not satisfy.
