I worked for HSBC before it was HSBC back in Sept 03 as a temp employee I was then hired in Jan 04, I quit because I could no longer with a clean conscience live with myself and became totally depressed and angry at
the practices the company serves its employees and customers. From the Human Resources department, Executives, and Middle Management, its all cut throat.
If you are compassionate and care about the customers, waives too many late fees or try to correct complaints you are targeted for extinction. My office cube was right accross from the Managers and I heard her plot and plan the demise of our entire unit ran by one of the most loyal and dedicated Supervisors the company had.
She was fair and hones in her dealings with her group of
employees, she had a heart and cared about the future of the company and its reputation. She was therefore singles out for termination because to be
a Supervirsor to HSBC you had to be cut throat, rutheless and merciless.

You had to condone bad customer serivce and bad business practices which the company is notorious for. You have to condone employees who hang up on customers and who do not waive legitamate late fees. Most customers
complained that they did not recieve their statements of received them just two or three days prior to the payment being due. Thus forcing them to make payments over the phone and be charged $15 to do so. They were right.

The company produced a culture where you did not care about the customer hell they did not care about the employees. Here are just a few of the horror
stories. I requested a tranfer from the dept due to my not getting along with this terrible cut throat manager that I had to listen to plotting and planning
how to get rid of our manager and they told me I had to stay were I was. Another employee was given a warning because she took pre approved day off to attend her cousin's funeral. How do you plan for a death in the family that is unexpected. We had certain quotas we had to make each month or you would be placed on corrective action. Prior our new management change our entire team was making the goals. Once they sent in the
Headhunter we call her because they float her around the company to fire and destroy people I overheard her call the manager of another dept that monitors our calls and tell them not monitor calls that are 1 to 2 mins
because they are the easy calls to get scored highly on. They were to monitor us on longer calls. Everyone knows these are the callers who are upset and angry and hard to get good scores on thus everyone of us
got failures for several months. Most of us were placed on corrective action. I told human resources they did nothing. I took off days from work because I was depressed, I told the doctor I wanted to kill our
manager. She gave me antidepressents and asked me if I would kill her seriously I told her I would never kill anyone I just had thoughts of it.

I knew then I could no longer work for a company like this.. I also received several calls a day from customers who questioned how I could work for
a company that ripped people off with their compounded interest loans. This company ruined my life and they do not care about their employees or their customers. This company gives high interest rates to people
who even have good credit scores. Most people find lower interest rates and pay off HSBC right away others are trapped and are paying off these loans because 98% of their minimum payment goes to interest and
less than 5 dollars a month goes to the prinical (money you borrowed). I now have a great job that I am proud of. I left the finance business altogether. I walked into the office of the bad manager and told her
I could no longer sit outside her office which my desk was right across from her and listen to her plot and scheme and the higher ups allowed her to do this with their blessings and tear people lives apart. No amount of money was worth it. I told her of the converations she had and how she wanted and planned to fire my boss by making her look like a bad supervisor because all of her employees were incapble of making our goals under her and all along she was calling her partners in other departments to sabatoge our hardworking team. I told the entire team about her before I left I told my manager I was sorry I took so long to tell her
what was happening I was scared of lossing my job and my ability to take care of my children I am a single parent of three children how was I going to provide for them I didn't know but I could not function any longer the job was making me contemplate killing people. My supervisor
told me she was being reassigned somewhere else the day I quit.

My evil manager looked at me for a long time as I expalined to her all the conversations I heard and how she risked our jobs just to try to fire my superivisor. I gave her my two weeks notice. She then told me to put the notice in writing while she ran to human resources to
cover her a*s. I wrote down my resignation and gave it to her, she then told me to clear my desk I would not have to work for the next two weeks this would be my last day but they would pay me anyway for the two weeks.

I used those two weeks to find and land the best job of my life. I told everyone there is life after HSBC. I later learned a few months after I was forced to quite that they did indeed manage to fire my supervisor after they reassigned her to another unit. She and I and
all the other employees they fired should file a class action law suit against them. They are a horrible company with horrible practices.

Any interested lawyers can contact me. Let's take them for all they have. They had to pay off millions in a class action suit when I was hired for discriminating against qualified minorities who applied for home loans from them. They were denied by HSBC. HSBC had
to file Bankruptcy because of it. They were named Household Finance at that time. What a ripoff.

Why, when credit card companies make so much money anyway due to outrageous interest rates, do companies like this get away with charging 'late' or 'rush' fees when they ARE PAID ON THE DUE DATE??? This needs to be made an issue, and you are to be commended for your post. Thanks
