Hazelden Addiction Treatment Centers Lack experience and or ability to detox and or rehab Beaverton and or Portland, Oregon

This facility claims that it specializes in psychiatric care , detox with them not somewhere else from alcohol. My mother flew to Oregon from Arizona to this facility with the belief that they were fully equipped to help her with her alcohol problem. We all also thought the facilities emphasis on dealing with psychiatric problems would maybe help her. She has never been to a rehab facility only detoxed locally. 

She is in her early sixties and only weighs 95-100 pounds. She also has recently been very unsteady on her feet  and does not move quickly as she needs glasses replaced. 

Immediately they let her husband know they were having difficulties at which he remembered that she does not react well to a medication they had administered but said would discontinue. Next they said she should have been fully detoxed after only 3 days - which they said she was but she was not "clear" completely yet and needed to be to start rehab program. 

Next they said they had taken her to the hospital in Portland because she had hit a nurse and so they had decided to take a cat scan to make sure she doesnt have permanent brain damage from drinking. She did not. Then they had the resident psychiatrist evaluate her to see if she had any major disorders or conditions. He said she did not. So they had the hospital hold her until next day at which time they informed her husband he should pick her up from there. 

First of all - complete detox can take up to 7-10 days. Secondly if she had alcohol dementia she would not "clear" for up to two years. This place advertises that they can deal with this type of incident specifically and they clearly can not. Why did they need the hospital psychiatrists for evaluation - should of been able to figure that out themselves. 

This was handled so badly and now she does not want to go after being rejected here. Do not believe their BS and the doctors that have such wonderful credentials as I do not think they have done anything more than loan their name to this place.
