Few months ago, we have been notified we won a prize. I questioned her where she got my name and she said it is through a drawing at a restaurant which I have done once in my lifetime many years ago. Anyway, an In-House sales representative came to my home and specifically said he doesn't earn commission for the sale but he gets paid for visiting home to do a demo. You would think it is simple and straight forward so you put your fence down and focus on the presentation because who knows what we have to answer at the end of the demo. After the demo that when things got hostile.

The sales wanted to sell Air Filtration & Majestic Vacuum Cleaner (made by Health Mor) for a Special Price of US$2600. You got to be joking right? Then, the sales claimed many people have bought these appliances for more. You are getting a very GOOD deal and you simply CAN'T live without them! What you are breathing is killing you every day.

After hour of back & forth (calling up the boss? checking on your credit? special discountdebates), but now he changed his sales tune that you could just take vacuum cleaner only for bottom price of US$1500. He was extremely aggressive and pushy and even said he won't leave until we made the purchase. We still were not interested. Then he offered to leave the vacuum cleaner for 3 days trial and he basically needed to make this deal regardless what it takes. He also called his boss to give us 12 months no interests and no payment. He got our security# (I know you are thinking we are just a fool!)

At the end, we gave in (because we wanted him to leave but in a nice way) so we bought the Majestic vacuum cleaner for US$1500. After he left, we found on eBay putting out a used Majestic for only US$350 (with no bid on it, obviously it is still high or not worthy). We also read few complaints in related to their Filter Queen service warranty. We noticed they utilize another company name to disguise themselves like Micron Filtration. Micron Filtration is on BBB but that does not mean anything because if you read their disclaimer from BBB website. BBB simply does not stand on what they listed. Like everything else, nothing can guarantee the integrity or reliability.

Questions we asked & his answers

/1 What happened to the promise - No Obligation & No Purchase Necessary? He said, I want you & your family live in a better life. I think he wants our money more than that.

/2 We told him to leave but he didn't? He said, I won't leave until I made this sale to help you. It is absolutely ridiculous. What kind of business practice is this!!??

/3 We were not given an option to cancel the contract.

The product is itself good. One other concern we have is when he brought in the vacuum cleaner + supplies to do the demo. We were not sure if they were brand new because they were not from original packing boxes. How on earth a company is giving a demo and claimed it is a brand new unit?

Used for US$350 and now we paid US$1500 for a unit we are uncertain it is new or used in a reality???? A difference of US$1,150.

That's a Ripped off in a bright daytime that we never would thought it would happen to us. We wish there is a way to put this business practice a STOP or their business OUT.

Filter Queen is a good vacuum cleaner but if they straighten out their business practice and put for sale like other vacuum cleaner companies. We can't comprehend how people can be immoral and rip off people's hard earning money in their homes. Unbelievable!

P.S. We did get our gift but they probably worth about $20 bucks or under. You won't use it and probably donate or put it away.

Heres a trick to do with a Filter Queen sales rep.

Go through the 90 minute presentation and show them how much one goes for on EBay. They will be out of your house real quick.

Its a good product and even the shipping charges still make it less than what there asking for.

This customer is so typical of the Great Northwest we live in.

I'm sure that manager was ecstatic when they heard your interest on the phone.

In fact thats probably why they called you in the first place.

Look on the bright side, you got a good vaccum cleaner. You could have saved some dough buying it on EBay though. You had 48 hours (or longer) to get out of the contract in the first place but you didn't.

Lesson learned, lesson made.

I NEVER respond to high pressure. When a salesperson is rude or threatens, then all niceness on my part would go out the door. If a salesperson EVER said to me " I don't leave until you buy something" I would say " You will leave now or I call the police". Then do it.

Yes our slaesmen are a little pushy, but thats our job.You have the right t say no, were at your home. Some people just don't want to be rude and are scared to say know, just like most other salesmen from different companies. Health-Mor offers the best products in there industry.
