This is pretty much your typical multi-level marketing scam that you find on Hotjobs, CareerBuilder, or Monster.

It's current name is Hi-Energy Concepts.  Nowhere in their ads does it actually tell you what the job is or anything like that, but you do know that it's "entry level" and "No experience necessary" type of jobs, when in actuality it's door-to-door sales.  If you do a reverse phone look-up, you find something called Straight-Shot Marketing, so I'm sure this is only 2 of several names they have used.

They don't actually have an "HR department."  Just the person at the front desk, who has snakebites in her face.   They pretend like they are sending you a personal e-mail or correspondance, but they aren't.  I had an e-mail from them, sent to me at 4am.

I went in for a job interview a while back.  I was sort of suspicious but went anyway, and they literally kicked me out of the interview when I told them that I was still working on an internship.  No joke, they KICKED me out!  They told me, word for word,  "Nooo, we need someone available immediately.  So get that squared away and get back to us."

What kind of company kicks you out of an interview and tells you to get your current job "squared away"?  I think what I told the guy (who didn't look a day over 25) was that I would be able to start within the next 2 weeks.  That would be a perfectly reasonable amount of time if this were a legitimate job interview.

Just last night (on a Saturday night) I received another e-mail from their "HR" department, telling me that they would be interested in meeting with me.  A legitimate employer would keep that stuff on file, no?

If you're in the West Palm Beach area... don't waste your time with job scams!

The company Hi energy Concepts is not a scam by any means , they are not affiliated with straight shot marketing.... i went on the same type of  interview with this company 7 months ago and during the interview process i treated very well , besides the lobby being a little bit hot. I got call back for a second round interview and was sent out in the field with one of thier trainers, that process took about an hour and a half. At the end of that process I was sent back for a third interview with the owner, the owner did the interview and then hire me on the spot. I have been there about 4 months now and i'm almost finish with my training pragram... we are looking to open an office for myself in savannah georgia.... im so excited !!!!

UPDATE 6/25/2012:

So, my bad, they don't do door-to-door sales, at least not to my knowledge.  They say that once employed, you'll be working with high-profile events, such as Race car driving.  But again, they don't say what the job will be.

I was working with a very high-profile event in Palm Beach Gardens this past March, which by the way is probably the *most* high-profile event there is in that area every year.  In fact, 2012 was the biggest turnout for this event.  Where was Hi-Energy Marketing Concepts?  Where was Straight Shot Marketing?  Or the other Marketing "firms" that have the same phone number and address?  Oh right, they were nowhere.

Also, I forgot to mention that while I was waiting for my interview, one guy sat down and started talking to everyone.  It was laughably obvious that Hi-Energy Concepts hired this guy to sit there and pretend like he was waiting for an interview, to get us motivated and feel like we were being "filled in."  Here I am, I couldn't find *any* information about this company after doing my research, and this guy comes in saying things like "Wow, are you guys nervous? I know *I* am!  That's because this company works for NASCAR.  Did you know that Nascar is the most watched sport in America?  Oh... you should know.. because if you don't, then you should... you should really know the company you're applying for."

It was so pathetic!  My first thought was "Well if you know so much about this company... then obviously you KNOW them."  I mean come on, the guy worked there.  After doing a little research on multi-level marketing scams, it turns out, my suspicion was right--they hired some jerk to sit there and put on a show.   Well, gee--if this were such a reputable company then I would have been able to find that information readily available on the INTERNET.  That would have been the first thing to come up on a Google search:  "Hi-Energy Concepts, proud sponsor of Nascar" or something like that.

Want a job in the Palm Beach area where you can be involved in local high-profile sporting events? Go to Palm Beach County Sports Commission.  Work for the Palm Beach Convention Center.  Roger Dean Stadium.  LPGA.  Not some bogus job where there are more job listings than there is information about their company.  "Ohhh wow, I hear they work with Nascar..." then try and get a job with Nascar instead. Not a multi-level marketing firm where you sell energy drinks or Nascar cards or whatever they do.   If they were so great you would have heard about them by now.

Once again, West Palm Beach, don't waste your time with these people!  Find legitimate companies that don't try to take advantage of recent grads or people who are laid off.
