I read a ton of posts on this site and at least I know now that I'm not the only person that Inphonic/Wirefly screwed.

I won't recap my entire story because I could literally cut and paste some of the others so instead I'll point out some things I hadn't posted before.

First, I too mailed everything in on-time and had certified mail receipts with signature showing they were received and on what date. Inphonics response to this: A signature on a certified mail piece is not valid proof that we received the letter.

Second, I too was told my info was lost then I was told to fax my information which they also lost. After my second fax, they sent me a denied claim notice because the fax was received outside of the promotion window!!!

Finally, I called Wirefly and screamed and yelled and they promised me they would look into the problem. I got an email from them stating that they would "honor the rebate as a one time courtesy." F&*^ You - one time courtesy my a*s. I called today to find out why I still don't have a check and they stated that they had to research my resubmission because of "irregularities" in their resubmitted rebates. Sadly, the same letter seems to have been sent to many others out there and I guess are getting the same run around.

Anyway, I filed a report with the BBB and they just sent me a note stating that 3 notices have gone out to Inphonic and they have not responded. I tried the State Consumer Affairs office for Georgia but gave up. They demanded so much paperwork, some of which I simply lost over the past year, that I sware, I now am convinced Inphonic runs my state Consumer Affairs office. I'm going to try the US Attourney General's office recommended in other posts.

Anyway...I have the email from them on March 8 stating they would pay me the rebate and that it would take 6-8 weeks. As of today, they have to re-research and they PROMISED (wait, let me stop laughing) that a supervisor named Jennifer would call me back within 72 hours.

So, 14 months since I switched my service through them, 8 months since I filed the rebate, and 4 months since I was promised the rebate....I wonder how long this will go on.

I can't help but wonder how the people who work Inphonic could all be this greasy? You would think someone at this crooked company would have turned them in or something. Or that they wouldn't be able to keep people employeed because they would realize what a crappy place they got hired to work at.

#4 Consumer Suggestion

Join the upcoming lawsuit against these scam-artists!

AUTHOR: Richard - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 27, 2006

Michael,

You are not alone! Check out www.oag.dc.gov and click on "DC AG sues popular wireless marketer" for information on the upcoming lawsuit against Inphonic.

Also, all consumers should be aware that according to a Washington Post article, Amazon.com is preparing to allow Inphonic to market its goods and "services" through them.

Anyone scammed by Inphonic, A1 Wireless, Wirefly, Liberty Wireless (all the same company) should contact Amazon to express their concern about allowing these scammers to do business through a legitimate site like Amazon.

Regards,
Richard
