i purchased a over priced 1995 dodge grand caravan for almost 8K...back in Nov of 2001.blue book at time was a mere 3500 and that was not considering the mileage...was at only 130k miles..my original contract stated it would be paid for by Nov 2004....but...one day they decided to "sell" my contract to a different finance company(seawest finance)....and with there interest still on the contract...then the second place added even more interest..they also told me that my original jd byrider contract was void because THEY sold it out from under me without my permission....then...the second place...get this...sold it to a 3rd company( pacific coast finance)which on the web is desribed as a mortgage company not a auto loan...and they added interest as well...they also told me at the time they did all this the first time was because jd byrider was going out of buisness and they sold all there "good paying" accounts...as i was a great payer towards my account.they are still there...but under a "new" name...all about autos.
im still paying for it...and going by the "payment schedule" i wont be paid off till june 2005.
theres other details if any legal folks want to pursue this...as for me i am thinking of posting a ad in our local newspaper to see if anyone else has these same problems with CNAC finance and there auto lot conspires.

as for service..i had to persuade them to do any repairs within the initial warrantee period, which included a broken motor mount,a coolant leak, only got 2 total oil changes in a 2 year period that they owed me...i had to get all new tires with in the first month...2 on same day of purchase..next door at a tire place, because they were bald.

they told me it had oil leaks and were not going to fix them even when the warratee was still in effect, told me to pay half of it...i said no..ill do it myself,as a matter of fact..all it was ..was loose oil pan bolts..i tightened them..leak fixed...cant do that for free for customer service?

and after they sold the account..my "free oil change for current accounts" vouchers were made void.

i dont think any of this is fair...as for illegal finance practices...i dont think they are right either

i work in a customer service related industry...if i treated my customers as they treat theres..i would be fired...and my company would be shut down.

AFTER READING THIS ..IF YOU WANT TO SHUT THEM DOWN...LETS GET A LAWSUIT STARTED

Problems with Finance Companies SeaWest and Pacific Coast

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 28, 2005

Chris - it sounds like you had a bad experience with several different finance companies - SeaWest and Pacific Coast Finance in particular.

The location in Fort Collins ceased to operate as a J.D. Byrider some years ago. I would refer you to the customer service department of those financial companies. SeaWest's contact information 888.211.8075. Pacific Coast's contact information is 888.686.5575.

As for selling your account to another account servicer without your permission, the language in the J.D. Byrider Retail Installment Contract states that you would be notified of any changes that took place.

The opportunity might arise for another national vendor to take over Byrider accounts that are performing well. This is generally viewed as a "step up" for the customers as you can get more exposure in all three credit bureaus with another national credit reporting agency.

The downside can be that many customers are comfortable with CNAC due to the friendliness and professional tone of the staff.

Thanks,
Michael Patrick
