Like everyone else, I was excited to see my son "accepted" into the school. Worried about the money, I did some research on JRP, but didn't see a lot of negative comments (at the time). Reluctantly, I let my excitement get the best of me, and borrowed the money to get my son into the classes.

It was near the holidays, and there was no real conversation about when the classes would begin, or which Saturdays they would be closed.  So we found ourselves waiting in the hallway, with two other families, AND the teacher.  The door was locked, and nobody was answering any calls, even from the teacher.  That was the first of several times that nobody was there.
The staff always seemed to be erratic, and definitely not well trained.  I think there was one time when we got a call ahead of time that class was cancelled.  Most of our calls to the office were met with a voice message and NEVER, EVER one returned phone call.
It seemed that things were on an upswing, when they launched their own website, www.jrpjacksonville.com which you will not find online now.  Stand by...
Shortly after the new website, we got an email that the office was moving to Neptune Beach in Jacksonville. A little disconcerting, since the Saturday commute would now be over an hour each way. This meant that the school was closed for the entire month of July. Classes were to begin August 8th.
Many, many calls made to confirm this.  The line was disconnected. The doors were not open on August 8th.
On August 18th an email arrived stating exactly this:"The Jacksonville location of JRP is now closed.  All clients will be serviced through the Orlando, Fl location.  Please call  Orlando to schedule coaching, auditions and photoshoots.  The Orlando office is one of the most successful locations in the country and is excited to work with you. "
Orlando is more than 2 hours, one way. This is a breach of contract, without a doubt. I would LOVE to see a lawyer pick up these cases and take Dale and Courtney Howell down, and Jennifer Miller and Nicole Pearce and whoever else is in on these scams.
I have contacted the headquarters, and have had to leave a message with them to contact the "owners".  Of course, I've heard nothing.  I don't plan to let this rest.  I urge all of you from Jacksonville to get together, and let's get these people.  Call Ken Amaro.

Professional Scam Artists

AUTHOR: JRPSUX - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, January 07, 2010

I too was scammed by these guys. I don't know if I was the other family waiting in the hall with you but my daughter and I were left waiting in the halls a few times too many.

I called the Atlanta operations as stated in our contract to find out they have sold that location. The gentleman who answered my call told me he's been getting alot of angry phone calls from Florida and Alabama. Unfortunately, the Howell duo are professional scam artists that have opened up shop in Florida, Alabama and Atlanta. Fortunately for the Atlanta consumers, they sold that one but they took off with people's hard earned money in Florida and Alabama. So I did some research (I will not let this go easily either) the Howell scum have many business operations in Florida with many different addresses but the most interesting one is they have not paid their business taxes or liscense for 2009 for JRP Jacksonville but weren't they just operating last year??? I am still looking into other resources to track these people down legally.

Calling the corporate office at JRP doesn't help either. The mailboxes are full, I've called several times and no one has answered or responded to my voicemail. After reading this posting, since I didn't receive the e-mail that you posted, I called the Orlando JRP and still waiting for a phone call back...this must be a trend...but have you been able to take classes in Orlando???

Jennifer Miller is equally as disgusting as Courtney and Dale Howell, giving my daughter false hope, lying to my child only to get money, you guys are truly pathetic. I know the Howell duo reads these posts and have responded to some of them...how about you respond to this post??? Businesses fail but if you knew you were struggling to stay afloat why demand the money upfront??? Why lead us on for several months only to disappear with only an e-mail??? (Which I didn't even get so I was left in the dark until I read this post) Why not make an effort to refund us some of the money??? Just closing up shop and disappearing into the wind because your business failed ISN'T an excuse!!!

I LOVE JRP!

I understand that you have had a bad experience with JRP.  The economy has hit everyone hard.  I guess that JRP is not immune to that.  I know the people that you are talking about in your complaint and I assure you that they did not take any money and run.  Nicole started off with the business for years and just closed shop one day because of illness.  Courtney and Dale came along to try to keep the doors open, which they did for several months, before they ran out of money to put into it.  All they were trying to do was help.  So to say that they took money is un-educated.  They actually lost money trying to help keep it open, but the economy would not allow that.  So Courtney and Dale have already been "Taken Down" as you say.  Keep in mind that this is a BUSINESS that has closed.  It is happening all around us with the economy the way it is.  Its unfortunate that you have a bad taste in your mouth, but it is fortunate that you still have the opportunity to take the classes in Orlando.  Other businesses that have closed do not have other locations and people are just out of their money.  I don't know about you but in these trying times i try to look at the bright side of things.
