Here is the information you requested concerning the Cosmetology Board Investigation of Pyramid Beauty School and Lois Bryant in Memphis, Tn.

I'm sure you'll find that any relationship you may have with this establishment would cause a negative light to be cast on you as well. Although the following report is very thorough I encourage you to do your own investigation into to the moral character of Ms. Bryant.

Pyramid Beauty School Violations and Findings April 5 to June 10th 2005.

Ms. Bryant has willing and repeatedly violated the Tennessee Cosmetology laws and the magnitude of the harm caused by these flagrant violations, schemes, scams, and cover-ups can only be seen in the number of graduates from her so called school who are being tricked out of there time and money & are still unable to pass the State Board Exam.

I am requesting that the board suspend, revoke, or refuse to issue or renew any license held by Lois Bryant, Pyramid Beauty School at 1292 Madison Avenue Memphis, Tn 38104 and the location where I am attending Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9-2 pm at 1370 Madison Memphis, Tn 38104. Ms. Bryant is unprofessional, immoral, and dishonorable in her day to day practices. This complaint in no way includes her Barber School that I have no knowledge of. I am willing to testify under oath if necessary that since I enrolled at Pyramid Beauty School on 4/5/2005 I have not received an orientation, a copy of the executed enrollment contract, nor a school catalog. T have received all of my training at the 1370 Madison (annex) location. I have performed services on clients that I have not been trained to perform. Both of my Theory Instructors at the school can attest to the truthfulness of this complaint.

Electric files and cuticle nippers are beinmg used on patrons without training and supervision.

Cosmetology students are arching eyebrows with razor blades without training and supervision.

Ms. Bryant has Fraudulent Grading Practices at her school where grades for practicals are given on the finished product several days after the service was performed.

Cosmetology students are performing services on patrons within seven days of enrollment without any supervision. Senior cosmetology students have worked on the floor for months without sanitation and bacteriology theory. Simply check the Sign In book and see who performed the service.

I feel I have been cheated because time was deing deducted for breaks I wss not taking. When asked to correct the problem they had misplaced or lost pertinent information from my file. By the students all covering different chapters their records are inaccurate and disorganized. Mrs. Moden and Mrs. Bryant strategically ask you to sign paperwork that you don't agree with and is not accurate.

Pior to enrollment I inquired about not being able to attend on Saturdays; after a week of attendance Ms. Bryant dishonored that agreement with a memo predated to my enrollment date. Please review my personal file. #119

Implements are not disinfected befor use on a patron. Disinfectant containers are contaminated with hair and nail filings yet are not clody; possibly Windex is being used.

Pyramid Beauty School is employing a handicapped instructor and the classroom is not easily accessible to accommodate the instructor's special needs.

Trash is not emptied daily and floors are not mopped and swept on a regular basis.

All my paperwork reflects a full tie status when I enrolled as a part-time student 9-2 pm Tuesday thru Friday. Ms. Bryant stated that all students paperwork must reflect a full time status in order to receive a pell grant. This is fraud and falsifying documents.

It is my personal opinion that Ms. Bryant has damaged me financially by collecting my pell grant money and attempting to give me credit for hours of instructional training with a licensed instructor when the majority of my coursework was completed through independent study and homework.

FINAL THOUGHT

Ms.Bryant , in my opinion, is collecting Government funds (pell grants) instead of charging booth rent. Ms. Bryant is basically running a salon with unlicensed manicurists and cosmetologists under the name of a school. How can this be permitted to go on??
