***Attention*** Buyer Beware!  MAP builds for less, Michael A Paulson does very poor quality work.  The materials he uses are very poor and cheap quality.  He service is very poor and of terrible quality.  If you do not like the finshed product he gives you - he will say quote "Not my problem"!  and "So sue me"!  His workers call him Mr. El Cheapo.  He makes up fake testimonials on his website.  He'll look at you in the eye and lie straight to your face.  Listen up public - you are not reading this by chance.  This is your warning! You will spend countless hours and days trying to get your money back by taking them to court.  Do not use this business.  They are not reputable and will rip you off.

It is a great world we live in where consumers have an outlet to voice their experiences of getting ripped off.  It is a sad world we live in where anyone can claim to be a professional at anything and then you find out later you just got scammed. 

This low life was taken to small claims court along with his accomplice in crime MAP builds 4 less and they were ordered to pay judgment.  Nothing I have accused them of has been untrue.  If anyone of them has customer testamonials, they are made up lies.  These 2 are petty thieves trying to play it off like they have real jobs.

By all means if you want cheap quality work you can do yourself and if you want to support these 2 scum bags go right ahead.  They have zero integrity and zero professionalism.  I encourage everyone to move on and steer clear because you will get ripped off!

Whomever has ears - Let them hear.  It is not by chance you are reading this report - you are reading this to be protected from harm.  MAP Investment Group LLC, MAP builds 4 less, Michael A Paulson will threaten to place a mechanical lien on your property if you do not cooperate.  Michael Paulson will threaten to call your employer if you do not cooperate with him.  MAP builds 4 less will threaten to sue you for defamation of character if you post negative reviews about his business online.  Michael Paulson will bully you into signing contracts that are vague and intended to trap you. 

It is our duty as consumers to protect one another,  I am posting all this to protect the next individual from duress and harm.  Please do not use MAP Investment Group LLC, MAP builds 4 less, Michael A Paulson for your general contractor in building a new home or home remodel.  You will regret it. 

Here is his modus operandi. He will quote you a low bid price to get your business and then commence into doing very subpar work, cutting corners every chance he gets.  If you do not like the work and voice your opinion he will say, "that was not in the contract" or "matching paint was not part of the deal" or "not my fault" or "so sue me".  You will spend thousands of dollars to fix his mistakes.  I implore you the public reader if you are doing business with MAP builds 4 less and you are just stumbling upon this report, use someone more reputable and with a better work ethic.

When you call Michael and mention this review he will use every excuse he can fumble out of his mouth to protect himself.  Do not believe him.  He has done too many people wrong throughout his career and now it is coming back to bite him.  He will tell you what you want to hear just to get his way.  Listen to his tone of voice and let your intuition be your guide.  That small voice inside your head will tell you something is not right, something is very wrong with MAP builds 4 less.

MAP will break contract agreements.

The contract specifically states the pre liminary design plans will be finalized in approximate 7 days.  How long did it take MAP?  Over 2 weeks and almost 3 if I would have not reminded him about it. When I reminded him he told me he was "out of town".  To me that sounds like "I don't have time for you"  So then in an email I wrote "wtf, you said Monday - call his a*s and tell him to get on it"  I wanted to get my point across because I had already paid MAP $1000 dollars for the plans.  He then tells me "hey, I'm on a wedding anniversary"  Again, that sounds like "I don't have time for you"  Finally 2 days later he sends the plans.  They looked just like what I drew him on paper and then he took it and drew it up on Microsoft Notepad or Word.  Please see attachment, does that look like what $1000 should get you in home remodel plans?  Lol!

To be clear, before any transaction, I asked MAP what type of design software he uses and his response was "I don't know, my designer handles that".  Then I said will you ask him?, I want to make sure it includes everything I want.  He responds with Auto-CAD.  I asked him what kind of Auto CAD because there are several types.  He never responded and I specifically requested that it resemble Home Styler or PRO Architect.  DFW Improved designed plans for me without requesting a dime, and did it in 3-D and in color! For free!

Of course I said this is not auto CAD and I politely asked for a refund of my deposit.  To be honest I said this is not auto CAD, this is auto CRAP (lol) in an email to him.  So...what did MAP do?  He stopped responding to my emails and he stopped answering my phone calls.  I had to call this guy from someone else's phone, twice, lol!  When I finally got a hold of him he talked me into emailing him exactly what I wanted in home design plans. Really? I had to tell him again that I want it to resemble Pro Archetect & Home styler with 3D and color.  I told him this is a serious project, where me and my family live, and where my children will grow up.  I don't want just black and white lines with a few numbers.

So I took more time out of my work day and copied and pasted photo's of exactly what I was looking for and emailed it to him.  Included in the email, to get my point across,  I let him know I will be putting bad reputation reports on websites such as this one if he comes back with the same design plans or does not refund my deposit.  I gave him 2 options, either he can refund my deposit or design the plans I paid $1000 for. 

So...what did MAP do?  You guessed it!,  he stopped answering my emails and phone calls!  He took it a step further this time and blocked my phone number and email address!  I'm thinking wow! This guy thinks he can just take my money and run, lol.  I had to call this guy from someone elses phone again!  I finally got him to answer the phone and politely asked, "MAP can you give me the design plans I am looking for?"  He responded "Not at that price",  I then said I want you to refund me my deposit.  He said "Let me think about it and I'll call you back"  LOL!  I said there is nothing to think about,  he then hung up the phone on me.  That is when I called him backed and "threatened" to take him to small claims court. 

I have tried and tried to work with MAP and give him the benefit of the doubt but he is being very stubborn.  All I wanted was my deposit refunded.  I even offered him $100 for his time, even though his website states that estimates and consultation are "free".  But no...MAP wants to play hard ball and take the money and run like the wind.  Now I am forced to have to take time out of my work schedule,hire a lawyer and start a small claims suit filing.  For the time and distress MAP has put me through it will be ten fold of the deposit at over $8000.  I believe I have been overly gracious with MAP and given him ample time.  I am giving him one more day to do the right thing :)

Below is the building plans contract that Mr. Lilequest signed and agreed to and when we presented the first preliminary set of building plans for his review he flipped out and starting cussing me out as well as leaving a (2 minute threatening message on my phone) directed to me personally... WHICH I HAVE SAVED and have turned over to the police.

Mr. Lilequest is currently harassing me and others involved for over a week, then he finally told me that he expected color 3D plans, etc??? He went on to tell me that even though he never told me he wanted this extra work that I should have known what he was thinking? My plans man said that Mr. Lilequest NEVER mentioned to him during our job walk that he wanted 3-D, coloring drawings including many renderings according to Mr. Lilequest?

Mr. Lilequest has emailed us many threating letters that we have saved and turned over to the police and our attorneys due to his recent actions. We have tried to work this out with him although we believe that he either has a drug, alcohol, substance problem and or some type of mental issues due to his actions, due to we are not able to read his mind.

He has openly admitted on tape that he never told us that he wanted all of these extra items until he flipped out on us, which we have saved for future use.  

 

We are currently considering a character defamation law suit against Mr. Lilequest.

Conditional Lien Release for the property above

Upon the receipt of a check made out for the above listed amount and made payable to

Work scope below: Per owners work scope, extend existing garage approx. 10’ in depth, widen garage to approx. 17’6”new addition side of house, expand utility room, relocate water heater, covered patio up to 1200 SF in space.

 

1) Floor plan

2) Elevations.

3) Electrical, plumbing lay out.

4) Building details, site plan.

5) Owner shall supply MAP with plot, survey plans if available, existing house plans and or any requested information required by the local city authorities.

 

6) Owner to approve of final rough drafts before plans goes to print.

7) Owner to receive two sets of plans.

8) Minor revisions included if needed, per plan check.

9) NOTE; If the city requires a structural engineer for Engineered Foundations, Framing, Mechanical, and Electrical. HVAC, plumbing, energy or special requirements this will become an extra charge above this agreement.

 

MAP shall have the authority to make minor changes consistent with the plans that do not involve an adjustment with proposal price. Any changes to plans after completion or city requirements needed may become a change order to accommodate changes.                                                                                                          

 

Note: If owner wants to have all of the finish fixtures, models specified in plans then owner shall submit a complete list to MAP to be included before drawings are complete. All construction codes take precedence over any and all parts of these drawings. HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical work shall be installed by licensed professionals and they shall determine final lay out as needed to build project. Price on drawing plans may be subject to change from original estimate due to more SF, special features, and or city requirements.
