#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds
No one hates them more than I
AUTHOR: Former Employee - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, February 18, 2005
Having worked for these evil demons for well more than five years in various department no one hates them more than I do.
However, MBNA does not changes it's due dates purposefully each month to gain late charges. Anyone with a credit card knows due dates fluctuate each month by as much as five days depending on the number of days in that particular month. This is because billing cycles are 30 days long and months range from 28 to 31 days long. This is a fact stated in the legal document called your "credit card agreement" that you received in the same envelope as your credit card. My advice...READ THE AGREEMENT! Yes it's long, small print and tedious but would you sign any other legal document without reading it???? Using the credit card is your legal signature that you agree to the terms set forth in that document.
Also, MBNA does protect against fraudulent claims, if they are actual FRAUD. It is that distinction that seems to confuse people. Fraud is not when you don't like something, it isn't when you hand your wife the card to buy shoes and instead she buys a whole outfit too. Fraud is actual deception...someone stole your card. Unfortunately, there is a little thing called family fraud that many people know nothing about. If your wife steals your card and racks up 5k in your name without you knowing...MBNA will not consider it fraud unless you press legal charges (ie. call the police) against her. So depending on your definition of the fraud you claim they don't help with...it may or may not be actual fraud. MBNA has an actual fraud department who pursue fraudulent charges and the people who make them. Call ask for them. If your case is valid they will help.
