Yesterday, I filed a report that said that the FCC was changing long distance rates. I recieved a messge from the FCC and now that I have done more research, it is not FCC but MCI who lied to me yesterday on the phone, of course they will deny it but they did lie and now they have lost a customer and I have a big mouth so everyone I know will know and hopefully if they have MCI they will cancel them also. This is a great site and will save me lots of money because I have followed the advice given here. I apologize for the mistake in a previous Rip-off Report.

FCC does not set or mandate any phone rates ..

They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report:
Their email: RnPMer@msn.com
Their name: Printha Merritt
Their phone number: 913-642-3512
Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion
Rebuttal:
I've been in telecommunications for 16 years. I just want to verify for readers that the FCC does not set or mandate any phone rates, be it long distance, local or cellular. If the FCC set rates, that would be a form of price-fixing, which is illegal. All companies may sell their service at whatever price they choose to charge.
If ANY company tells you differently, they are misleading you, and should be reported immediately to the FCC. It will help them if you can provide the date/time of the call where you were misled, as well as the name of the person you talked with.
