I purchased RegCurePro on line for 39.99 because my computer crashed and since I know nothing about computers I was desperate and felt that I needed help. I was having to shut it down and restart in safe mode every ten minutes or so and I was in the middle of planning a memorial service for my husband and panicked because I needed to get pictures printed from my laptop for the service. After I made the purchase the website stated that I needed to call them to register the software.

Once I was on the phone the sales representative told me that he needed to give me a code and I needed to enter it. Once I did that he was remotely on my system looking at me computer. He informed me that I had so many issues with it he wasn't sure if it would even take care of it and that I should take it to Best Buy or some other location to be serviced. I'm not well and was not able to leave my home. He then told me that they could repair it remotely if I chose to do that. Since I was in a desperate situation, I thought it was the answer to my problem. The one time repair and cleaning, plus a year subscription was 220.00.

Once I made the payment, he told me that a technician would be on the line shortly, then the phone line went dead. I quickly called the number he had given me for future use and a tech was on the line. He also gave me a four digit code which I entered and it allowed him to remotely look at my laptop and attempt to repair it. I sat and watched him run several things on my system and after about one hour a report popped up on my screen that said it was cleaned and repaired, the report did not state what the problem was and it was not printable. I was able to get on the internet, but only for about twenty minutes or so and it was extremely slow. And I began getting pop-ups immediately which told me nothing had changed. Windows crashed again and I was back to manually shutting down and doing a safe start.

As the day progressed the problem with my browser freezing got worse and worse until I was again having to shut it down manually and restart it in safe mode over and over so I could get access to my pictures at least. Since I also paid 50.00 for lifetime tech support, I called and complained. The tech was very impatient, did not get on my computer remotely to look at it this time, and seemed confused and it seemed that I knew more than he and I am not the least bit knowledgable about computers. By the time the call was over and he was finished trouble shooting I had lost my internet connection. He claimed that it had to be my home router. I told him that my Kindle tablet was connected so there was not way it could have been my wireless service. He told me that he had to hand it over to a "higher up" and I would get a call back within 24 hours (never happened).

I decided to do a trouble shoot on my wireless connection through Windows and it reported that my driver to my wireless adapter had been damaged. Yesterday I ended up taking it to a computer repair shop anyway and paying only 125.00 to have it repaired. He removed their software from my computer and really repaired it so it now runs fine. He informed me that their software had changed my hard drive and that he'd had many other customers that had been ripped off by this company.

Ripoff Recap: The software I purchased initially was RegCurePro which is supposed to clean your computer's register. After I made the total of three purchases, #1 RegCurePro 39.99, #2 a one time repair and a six month subscription to Malwarebytes (antivirus program), and #3 Lifetime tech support 50.00 absolutely nothing changed on my laptop, in fact it was worse. So they got me for a total of $330.00. I may as well burned the money.

I received two emails after I purchased this software. One from ParetoLogic confirming my purchase of their product "RegCurePro". And an additional email from the company "Safecart", they processed the three payments. At this point I'm not sure how to get a refund but I'm going to try. I'm widowed, I'm not well and I cannot afford to throw money away. I feel stupid for letting this happen but I definitely think that I was taken advantage of. Another Warning: This software also "auto renews" every six months. I just cancelled my subscription. I'm going to fight for a refund and I'm calling my bank to try to dispute the charge. This company needs to be stopped from taking advantage of consumers now!! Don't fall for it like I did!

Safecart refunded my payments in full

AUTHOR: Judy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 22, 2013

I wanted to issue an update to my report posted on 2-2-13 regarding my purchase of software from Paretologic, RegCurePro and Malwarebytes. After emailing the customer service department the same day I posted my report, I received refunds in full for each item payed for. My poor opinion still stands as far as the products I paid for but I am grateful to Kristy at Safecart for listing her email information on Rippoff report so I could take the steps to getting my refund. I consider it a lesson learned, I now take my computer out to my local computer repair shop.
