Peoplesmart charged me for 4 months for their membership after using it to search for one name. They refunded me for only 2 of the months and refused to refund the remaining 2 months.  

Do NOT use their services.

What else did you leave out? Tell me what did you do while signing up, not the consequence. I am sure you signed up for a special deal and DID NOT read their small print stating that you must cancel the service within a certain time or you would be billed a monthly membership fee. Then you did NOT look at your credit card statement and let it go for 4 months. Once you noticed it, you tried to get ALL your money refunded but they allowed only 2 months. Now you are blaming them to take ALL responsibilities. I agree with the company that 1/2 of the responsibilities is yours and that is the 2 months payment! If you had caught it the first month, I would completely agree with your statement. However, it is obvious that you are AT FAULT as well.
