First, I would like to start by stating that I am a soldier in the United States army and have been for over 14yrs now and never have been decieved by anyone  like this before! I met Josh Robinson through ebay when he was selling a 1999 BMW 328i. The asking price was $5500 or best offer so I offered him $5000 and he sent a counteroffer  for $5125 delivered to my door. I made my final offer of $5000 delivered to my door in which he accepted. I asked him to send me an invoice through paypal since a deposit was required. Josh sent me an invoice through paypal and I paid the same day. When I asked him to send me the remainder balance invoice through paypal he texted my phone explaining that he did not accept paypal and that he would have to charge me additional fees/ebay fees and Florida taxes since he lowered the price to fit my budget. He stated that I could just deposit the remainder balance to his comapnies bank of america account and there wouold be no additional fees. At the time I was at a party so I told him that he would have to wait and he stated that he would increase the amount on the listing to $7500 so noone would bid or buy the car until I had a chance to pay the remainder balance. He later texted stating that so many people were emailing him about him increasing the bid and that they were watching the auction so he asked could I hurry and pay so he could end the auction. I agreed and went to deposit the remainder $4700 into his Platinum Motors account. Little did I know this was my first big mistake!

So Josh assured me that I was getting a beautiful perfect car with nothing wrong with it. I asked for pictures of the car and a title with my name on it to be faxed to me since he stated that he was required to send paperwork via fax for me to sign and mail back to him at my earliest convience since it was for " his records". After going back and fourth in text messages bottom line I didnt get the documents via fax like I requested. He did send me a picture of the car info being put on Centarl dispatch for shipment since 2 days since I paid on 8 June 13 and still no word of anyone wanting to ship my vehicle. On the 4th day I got concerned and did some research of my own. Come to find out, Josh posted that my car be shipped for a measly $150.00!  No Im no rocket scientist but I do know that noone in their right mind would drive from Coral Springs, Fl to Columbus, Ga for $150.00! I confronted Josh and once again he assured me that he has been in bussiness for x amount of years and that he ships vehicles such as porsches, dodge rams etc...at that rate and that it was not an issue. The next day I called him back with my ex boyfriend on the line because I was stressed about paying this man for a vehicle that I have not seen. He assured my ex boyfreind (Moe) that he would call around to some of his connections in Atlanta and see if he could get some assistance because normally delivery doesnt take that long. So he asked for us to give him until the next day. The next day came and on 14 June 13 I decided to find my own shipoing company so I sent inquires via onlne and receieved numerous quotes. I was not prepared for the drama with trying to ship a vehicle either! I called and told Josh and told him that I found my own transporting company and he thanksed me and said he would give them the $150 he originally was offering! Well 4 days later my car finally arrived and I texted Josh asking did he pay the $150 and he stated $100 because I still owed him $50 from the initial $250 deposit. I told him technically he should be responsible for the $460 that I had to pay to get car delivered because every single broker I spoke with assured me that at the $150 rate Josh offered, I was not going to get my car anytime soon!

Finally my car arrives to Columbus on 17 June and the outside looked great! Once I enetered the car, my heart dropped! The Kenwood high qualityCD Player he boosted about didnt work, the passenger and backseat windows did not roll down, speakers were cracked, sunroof cover was off track and most importantly, 2 lights were lit up on the dash board (Oil and engine). I called and texted Josh and of course no replies, no return calls! The next day I decided to take the vehicle to Precision Tune for an oil change. Just when I thought it coluldnt get worse, my nightmare did! The mechanic their (Brandon) ststed that it was pretty bad and showed me underneath my car where their was an excessive amount of oil and power steering leakage, broken bearings, one tire was shredded and cracked so bad Brandon said he was shocked that a dealer would sell me such a car! He advised that I take the car to BMW to put it on their machine so they could see what was going on because he was not able to due to the excessive amount of oil. Please see attached/uploaded images in this compalint, so bad you gave to see for yourself to believe! So my oil change went from 36.00 to $130 because I had replace a few filters as well! I took pictures and sent them to Josh and again, no replies or explaination!  18 June I replaced the tire with a used one until my appointment with BMW on Wed 24 June to see if the car is even worth me putting in the money!

I will keep you all posted but I regret not doing my research on Josh and his company. I wanted to share my experience with everyone because this man Josh Robinson had the nerve to use his family to lure me into purchasing what Im finding out to be a lemon. I cannot speak on any of his previous histories but this transaction that I have done with him has been a complete nightmare! Josh starts off really friendly and throws around his credentials and assures that he has two daughters and a family man that does good honest bussiness, but in reality he is a con artist who is just out to get your money. I have facts and evidence to back up everything I have inputted in this complaint and I assure you that I have never met Josh until I purchased this vehicle. Nothing peronal just bad bussines he does and I hope tis complaint saves someone from making the same mistakes I have made. DONOT buy outside of EBAY! Make him end the auction the right way and know that if you are an out of sttae buyer as long as you have the title/bill of sale you can pay the taxes at your home atate! I will let you all know what BMW diagnose the car with when I go to my appointment, but it doesnt look good at all! BEWARE OF JOSH ROBINSON, but know that this is not the last of my situation. I do plan on seeeking legal actions against him for FRAUD nad if anyone is interested let me know so we can get this CON ARTIST shut down for good!

Coast,

I am aware of my mistakes point blank period. I'm just informing others of my downfalls if you are too perfect to accept my complaints then why comment? Read and keep it moving no need to comment in regards to something I'm obviously aware of now. Omg, this is getting annoying...

You've been duped

You should have suspected that he was being deceptive when he told you that he does not accept PayPal even though that's the payment process you used to pay the deposit.

"unless you have something productive to say stay off my complaint page"

Here's a productive comment: If you can't afford to be bamboozled, don't purchase an automobile sight-unseen from someone you've never met.

Keep your stupid remarks to yourself!

AUTHOR: Ms. Faith Donaldson - ()

POSTED: Friday, June 21, 2013

Jim,

I did not make a complaint to receieve any irrevelant feedback. I understand I made a terrible mistake and I'm paying for it not you. Unless you have some advice, or feedback I would appreciate it if you keep your rude remarks to yourself. My mental state is just fine I do not owe you or anyone any justification for what I have done so your comment is unneccessary and I suggest you find aomething else better to do with your time. I wasnt using being a veteran as any justification I was just stating that I have never been through such a mess even as a soldier. Well enough explaining myself to you, why comment if you feel this way? Aagin, unless you have something productive to say stay off my complaint page, you dont have a rebuttal you have an opinion that does not mean a thing to me. Take care

The "Veteran Card" Doesn't Work Here!

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

POSTED: Friday, June 21, 2013

Veteran or not, buying a used car sight unseen on the internet is immediate cause for a complete mental evaluation.  Throwing common sense out the window all for a stupid car, is in itself stupid!
