Property Tax Assessor Records Corp Requesting $55 fee for reducing property taxes by $483.75 a year and continuing every year. Georgetown Texas

This company sends out official looking documents that state they can reduce your property taxes based on a county loophole in the tax code that you are not taking advantage of. Checking with the county I discovered any tax savings/advantages you might be elligable for is a service offered for free by the county. Checking with my neighbors and other I found that several had received the same information and made the mistake of sending their checks. The checks were cashed and they never heard anything back again. On the documents mailed there is no email address, no physical address (beware any business with a P.O. Box for an address), and no phone numbers. By searching the web I discovered their Web site and it only asks for your info and provides no address or phone numbers to contact them on. This is such an obvious scam I have to wonder why the authorities are not arresting the individuals behind the scheme? If you look very close at the documents sent they say, in very small writing on the back of the mail-in card you send with the check, "Property Tax Assessor Records Corp. Not affiliated with any government agency."

This is a classic example of public records being abused and illegally used to scam people from their moneys and somehow do it above the law.
