Provident Funding Incorrect Payment Posting Santa Rosa California

Late 2008 I pre-paid my mortgage thru June 2009. In May 2009I received notification that my May payment was late. I called, the lady said they had applied my May & June payments directly to the principle and she would apply my payments correctly. One week later I received a call and she said that they could not apply my payments to May & June because it would cause them to re-file tax (intrest payment) to the IRS and I, also, would have to re-file my taxes - I said OK, apply the money to May & June. She then said that they could not, and I paid her with a check # over the phone for the May & June payments because it was the 26th of May. In June I made my July payment, and then received a letter saying that I was late paying my June payment. At this point they said they saw the payment in phone payment in May (for 2 months) but it was not enough to cover the month of June and they would apply my July payment to June. This company does not know what they are doing and suspect that they are in financial trouble - trying to get additional monies from the people who are paying on time.
