RECREATIONAL FACTORY WAREHOUSE ripped off and scammed VIRGINIA BEACH Virginia

To anyone considering a pool purchase from Recratioal Factory Warehouse;

I wish that I had found this website before I purchased my swimmingpool from RFW. Howevere I was a day late and 3300.00 dollars short! Hopefully this will reach you before you make a purchase from them.

We purchased a 24' round swimming pool from RFW on 4/12/03 and that is where the nightmare began. We were promised that the pool would be installed by Memorial Day Weekend, maybe I should have been more specific about what year. I did not think that that request was unreasonable considering there was six weeks for them to deal with. Needless to say it is now 6/10/03 and we still do not have a completely set up pool. The whole thing has been a disaster. The first install date had to be canceled
and reschedueled. They showed up early tore up my yard and left to help on another job, came back the next day with only two guys, finished setting up the pool. They done a very poor job.
I had to call the office to come look, they did and rescheduled to reinstall it. 4 weeks passed, the pool sat in our yard all this time getting more dity every day and breading mosquitos. finally after a whole lot of fussing they came back and done an even worse job. This time I had the added bonus of them bringing a bobcat and totally distroying my back yard, and even places in my front yard. That was on 5/20 and 5/21 and since then it has been a series of unreturned phone calls no shows on apts and in general just the run around. So as of today 6/10/03 we are back to square one with a pool set up improperly half full of green water breeding mosquitos and we are comming up on 4 weeks again. But hey what do they care, they got my money on 4/12/03. They made sure of that, they took an automatic draft off my account that day.

They claim that the installation company is a seperate company but what I think is that they are only seperate on paper to make it difficult for the customer to have any recourse when things go wrong. They have covered all bases. ADL enterprises only does installation work for RFW, which I find odd because if I am an indepentant contractor I would think I would take business from many companys to make as much money as I could. But then again maybe the problem is the poor quality of work they produce. Maybe no reputable company would give them any business.
However my momma always told me that if is walked like a duck and quacked like a duck, then most likly it's a duck. So my guess is that they a just one in the same for all intensive purposes, just not on paper.

If anyone else out there has had similar problems with RFW in virginia beach please file a complaint here. Maybe as individuals we can't do anythig, but as a group we could make enough noise that they would have to do something.
