On October 9, 2013, I received a cashier’s check and letter via priority mail advising to deposit the check and send the money via western union to a Mr. Felix Black in Atlanta Georgia. The sum of the check was $1680.00 and I was to keep $200.00 for the secret shopper assignment. I was to send $1350.00 and the remaining $130.00 was for the Western Union fees. I completed the transaction on October 13, 2013 and sent the email with my observation of the Western Union location and yesterday, October 16, 2013, I received another 2 checks for the same amount and with the same transaction details. This time it was sent via UPS Next Day Air. Both envelopes came from Fort Worth, Texas but different addresses and names. I thought that seemed odd in itself, but also because usually secret shopping is done for various stores not the same one, regardless of the location. I googled the name and came up with multiple complaints and even several consumer report rip-off notifications. Needless to say I was scammed. The check was returned to my bank today October 16, 2013 and I am out of $1500.00. I received many emails to have this completed quickly and I should have known it was too easy to be real. I have contacted my bank and they can’t do anything because the funds were withdrawn and Western Union can’t help either. I hope people are savvier to look for details when they get these types of mailings so they will not be swindled. I know these are fraudulent charges if this person is ever tracked down as he is using federal services; such as the bank and the post office. I hope they can find this guy and arrest him for fraud and fake checks. I hope the federal government is on this so he and whoever is assisting him can be tried and convicted for these charges and spends many years behind bars as hard working citizens are being conned.
