I recently bought one of the most expensive riding lawn mower tractors that Sears sells in the Craftsman brand.

After only a few months, the lawn tractor would not start. It appeared to be a defective battery.

I took the battery back to the store and asked them to check it since it was still under full warranty. I had also foolishly purchased an extended warranty.

I was told at the store that the SALE of Sears lawn equipment had nothing to do with the SERVICE of Sears products. They told me I would have to drive all the way across town to a service department.

Fortunately, I called the SERVICE department before driving all the way across town. I was told by the SERVICE department that they had nothing to do with WARRANTY SERVICE, and I would need to call an 800 number to schedule a warranty appointment.

When I called the 800 number, I was told it would be 2 weeks before they had an available appointment.

In Baton Rouge your grass will grow 2 feet high in 2 weeks, so I had to purchase a new battery at my expense, for which I was not reimbursed.

Before you buy any EQUIPMENT WITH A WARRANTY FROM SEARS, ASK THEM WHERE AND HOW THE WARRANTY SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED. Better yet, just go somewhere else and purchase your outdoor equipment.

I await your response to my rebuttal.

I am particularly interested in your comment that " the world wouldnt bat a eye if you (meaning me) were not there".

As I told you, Fayard, Harris (me), et al, and Gauthier & Murphy, et al filed the lawsuit against all US tobacco companies in the United States in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana generally referred to as the Castano Tobacco case. You can verify this on the internet in the 84 Million pages of documents generally found at The Legacy Tobacco Documents Library (LTDL), developed and managed by the University of California at San Francisco. LTDL holdings updated as of Wednesday, October 9, 2013 contains  83,928,579  pages in  14,231,622 documents.

For you TYG, that means the litigation generated almost 84 MILLION PAGES of evidence. We sued not on the ground that smoking tobacco by consent causes cancer, but that the tobacco companies treated the tobacco with 23 chemicals making it more powerful and addicting, which was not listed on the package, and no one consented to knowingly.

As I said, this lawsuit we filed resulted in $400 BILLION DOLLARS OF SETTLEMENT $ that was mostly reimbursed to Medicaid and Medicare state by state.

Now, please explain again how I have never made any significant contribution to society, compared to your impressive achievements. Can you change your own tire on your car, or something similary important to society?

If we don't hear back from you, we will have the impression that you are a liar, basketcase, coward and a great big 0, just like your name, TYG the BIG 0.  I guess we know that about you already.

Dear Mr. Failure

AUTHOR: Mr. Disappointed - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, October 22, 2013

It is obvious that you hate consumers so badly, that you must have either owned a business, whose customers put you out of business, or you worked in customer service with the consumer aggravation resulting in an inferiority complex from your failure in life for which you blame the consumers.

I would encourage you to seek anger management therapy to end your own suffering and misery from being mad at the world.

I was fortunate enough as an attorney to make enough money to live the rest of my life by the time I was 45. Thereafter, I worked as a public interest attorney. During that time period, I worked jointly with the FBI and Justice Department to thwart the efforts of unethical developers and politicians from stealing approximately $35 Million Dollars of taxpayers funds. Not a single taxpayer ever thanked me, but I did receive death threats from the parties attempting to embezzle the funds from the public.

My lawfirm and one other law firm from New Orleans (Gauthier & Murphy) filed the Peter Castano tobacco suit against all tobacco companies in the United States, which resulted in the tobacco companies paying a settlement of $400 Billion Dollars with a B to reimburse the states for Medicare and Medicaid expenses. I did not receive one dollar of the money. HAVE YOU MADE ANY CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIETY THAT WOULD COMPARE? I seriously doubt it. You are probably complaining about the price of cigarettes.

When I pay almost $2,000 for a new lawnmower, I do expect the battery to last for more than 4 months. Maybe you think that is unreasonable.

For educational purposes, please be advised that they do have a device that tests the battery, and it showed it was defective. When they refused to replace it did I yell and scream and cry? No, because it was not worth personally getting irate about. I just will not do business with Sears anymore. I just walked out and left them with the battery. I went to Walmart and bought a new battery for $35. Then I went home and cut my grass. I just wanted to warn other consumers to help those who could not afford to be "ripped off" and treated like trash after Sears had their money.

I will let you go now, so that you can kick the dog, and beat your family to vent your anger. Then you can come back and write some more ignorant babbling hatred against the world. If I had your name, I would ask the FBI & BATF to check and make sure you have no explosives. The type of anger you harbor is the type that breeds Timothy McVays.

With kindest regards, I am

Still Disappointed

ok but where is the ripoff??

AUTHOR: Tyg - ()

POSTED: Saturday, October 19, 2013

Neither Sears nor Craftsman has ANY control over how you use your mower. So your battery went dead. This post sounds more like "waa waa I have to wait" then a ripoff. The real world is not the internet and instant gratification is very rare. So once again WHERE is the ripoff? Or is this yet another of the standard american consumer BS because the world doesnt run the way YOU want it to. They can not and will not just take your word that the battery was dead. To them, you could just be someone attempting to scam THEM. They HAVE to make sure that all the bases are covered. You also  CANNOT expect them to just go'"Oh ok np mr consumer, we will send out a $30-$90 battery just because you say so". Its a business and as such they need to ensure YOURE not ripping them off. Things take time to happen. Thats the great thing about living is a linear universe.

Come back when you have a actual scam or ripoff. Because your situation is neither. Its a boohoo post because you didnt get your way. Get over yourself buddy. You have to live with the world, the world wouldnt bat a eye if you were not there. Youre not so important that people and companies will just bend over and take it. They already did that in the 80's and 90's. They found out if you give the american consumer a inch they will run a marathon. So in this case you have no one to blame EXCEPT your fellow consumers. If people as a whole were more honest and approached life with some morals and integrity situations where you have to WAIT wouldnt be a issue. But the american consumer is so blinded by their own self importance that they refuse to see HOW their lack of morals and integrity affect the market as a whole. Its no longer the customer is always right. We are WELL beyond that old and outdated model. That model was useful when we didnt have as many people living and consuming. Any more a business is lucky if they can make a profit and make customers happy. YOU are a prime example of WHY that statement no longer holds air.

Take a min. and step back from your indignant attitude and read your own post. You would see it for what everyone else is going to see it for. You should feel ashamed of yourself for the self entitlment and impateince that you are displaying. Your post sounds like a 3 year old whining that they have to wait for desert. Are you going to go to Sears and make a scene now?? Are you going to yell and scream because you cant have your ice cream now??

Your warrenty is still intact, you simply have to WAIT YOUR TURN like everyone else. The sooner you realize this and understand that you are JUST one person in a sea of consumers, all of which are looking to screw the giant corporation or lie/cheat/steal to get what they want. Which is something for nothing. The sooner you will find a little happiness in your life.

FYI you DO realize that if you had to purchase a battery that is covered by your warrenty, you can have the warrenty company reimburse you for the expense? But your going to have to wait.............
