I tried to use my Equity line of credit card recently and it was declined twice. I called SDCCU and found out my line of credit was suspended due to the market. I was told that I could resubmit the paperwork if I felt I still had equity in my house and they would reconsider. I still have equity in my house as I put a lot of money as a downpayment. I always make my payments on time and I am not in jeopardy of losing my house yet I seem to be lumped in the same category as those that are. Seems SDCCU doesn't want to take the time to suspend only those loans that are shaky, they just went ahead and suspended all of them. Time for me to reconsider a new bank, SDCCU you are the worse bank I have ever been with and your fees are ridiculous. Larry San Diego, CA

SDCCU is worse than you know

Many of the web sites exposing fraud and immoral practices like the one mentioned in this article http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-314756452.html were taken down by SDCCU lawyers. SDCCU does not want San Diegans to know. People who work at this company say its CEO is pure evil and the Board Chairman and previous CEO is just as bad.
Check the links below. The links just need to be refreshed if you get an error.

Whoa...wait a minute now!

Before you start spouting Larry boy, take a chill pill and grow some IQ points. First, it's irresponsible to trash an organization like SDCCU, who provide a valuable service to their community, especially when it's obvious that you know little about the issue which inspired your complaint;
Second, the action taken by your credit union is protecting what little equity you may have left (if any), so be glad they're looking out for you and not just lending without a reasonable guarantee of return--unlike some banks we know of;
Third, get it right...SDCCU is a CREDIT UNION, not a BANK, ie: non-profit and their returns are reinvested in YOU. Know the facts before you sound off. You should call them tomorrow and thank them for not ripping you off--unlike some banks we know of.

Stop What You're Doing

Nobody is establishing lines of credit anywhere. No bank will. No credit union will at this point. You're going to be patient and wait until the actions the Treasury begin to have a positive impact on the credit markets.
This is not a rip off and what the CU told you is 100% correct. Calm down; by the time you open an account elsewhere and get turned down at the next place, you will wish you were act the CU.
Best of luck to you.
