Beware - do not use Sears repair service. I had a dryer repaired that needed a new heating element in August 2010 at a cost of $200. The new heating element went out on December 26, 2010 (four months later). After speaking to a customer service rep and supposedly a supervisor, they informed me that I would have to pay for another service call and the heating element and service was only guaranteed for three months. It's funny that the original part lasted 10 years, but the "new" replacement lasted only four months. If you do the math, it would be cheaper for me to buy a new dryer at this rate. I am not having Sears come again and after my parents doing business with them for over 50 years and me for over 30, I won't be buying any more appliances from them. They either want to scam you on the repair service or make you buy a new appliance.

Heating element online

Get the model number of the heating element - you can purchase these online pretty cheap. It just snaps in as well. This happended to me years ago - I was charged $160 for the service call, kept the old element, researched it and found it for $22. It took all of 3 minutes of the repair person going to the truck getting the part and putting it in. "Gotcha" never again.
