Sona MedSpa Beware of Sona Medspa Coral Gables Florida

When I decided to have laser hair removal, I wanted to use a company that was well known and was established. These days there are laser hair removal companies everywhere so I wanted to go to a place that had credentials. I did some research and decide to go with Sona Medspa. The Sona website was very impressive and they seemed to have locations around the country. As far as I could tell Sona Medspa seemed like a respectable organization which I could do business with...the type of company that stands behind a product. I went and bought a laser hair removal package for $1,875. They offered 12 months free financing if I used the "GE care credit" card...what more can I ask for? I had my first treatment done and I was very satisfied. Before I left I booked my second appointment and was looking forward to my next treatment. The day before my next appointment I called to confirm the time. I was told by an operator that there had been a "flood" in the office and they would be closed for several weeks. I accepted this explanation...it seemed logical enough. A month passed and I had not heard from Sona. I decided to call the Sona corporate headquarters and was told that the Sona - Miami location had closed its doors. Sona corporate did not have details since the owner of Sona Miami didn't even tell Sona Corporate that they were closing there doors. Each time I called Sona corporate I was told someone would call me back shortly...my calls were never returned. I did receive an email from Connie Stone from Sona Corporate. The e-mail was very short and basically informed me that each Sona location was individually owned and that Sona corporate was not going to honor any of the treatments I had paid for. I could not even go to another Sona location and have the rest of my treaments! Basically, Sona Medspa corporate is just a franchise system that does not stand behind any of it stores. Seeing that I was not getting anything resolved with Sona Corporate I decided to go to the "owners" of the Sona in Miami. Sona Miami has three owners, Gloria Lerma Lopez, Rand W. Smith and Emilio M. Lerma. I sent each of them a certified letter explaining my situation and asking for the return of my payments. Shortly thereafter, I received some BS letter from Michael Moeker & Associate (a lawyer) explaining that Sona - Miami had filed for bankruptcy and I could file a claim. My experience with Sona Medspa was a nightmare that lasted from February 2008 through mid June 2008. Sona Medspa corporate headquarters does not stand behind its customers. Gloria Lerma Lopez, Rand W. Smith and Emilio M. Lerma are thieves that stole $1875 from me. These three individuals do not know how to run a business and could care less about there clients. If you are thinking about going to Sona Medspa for any treatments or thinking of going to a business owned by Gloria Lerma Lopez and her gang of hoodlums...please beware! They ripped me off and they will do the same to you. On a brighter note...I explained my situation to GE Care Credit and they fully reimbursed me my $1875. Thank you GE Money Bank / GE Care Credit!
