I just recently signed up for Spirit Airlines $9 Club. I had previously went on Spirit to search for flights to take my two young children to Disney World (leaving in May), I had priced their tickets for all three of us at $620.00.  I was trying to save as much money as I can, because I am a single mother on a budget.  So the $9 fare club peaked my interest.  I broke down and joined the same day of searching for flights.  I didn't read the small print and all I saw was the enticing word of "savings".  I as well as anyone else like to save on anything and everything... I am not a cheap skate by any means, but geesh, Spirit did not have to give it to me that hard.

I joined the club and instantly began to search... Well to no avail, I got my price for the airfare on the $9 club and it was only $13.00 less,(yeah that's right a whopping $607.00).  Wow, I could not beleive it... I paid $59.95 for this.....

I was ready to cry, not only was I NOT saving money, but I actually gave them more money, money I could have used at Disney with my kids.   I honestly thought that I would have at least saved my membership fee the first trip.  You get nothing with this membership, but $59.95 lighter in your banking account.

I am at a loss for words, I never thought that I would be ripped off this bad ever in my life... This is horrible... Now what to do - I joined a club that is useless to me.  I receive no incredible discounts, and I am stuck with a membership that I wont use.

I would just like to thank Spirit Airlines for giving it to me up the ole $%# with no lube...  At least before you reeled me into this debockle you could have given me a teaser of some sort..

I honestly think that no one should join the $9 club they have offered. The airfare is not much cheaper with it.. So save your money.  They advertise such great discounts on everything from airfare to hotel..... Not at all, the hotel that I have booked for my stay at Disney is on here and I got it for $77 a night through the hotel site and Spirit is $169 a night... Go figure... I should not have expected anything different.

I honestly dont know how this company sleeps at night knowing they take money like this from hard working people and do not offer some kind of substantial discount (at least for the first booking), geesh, where is the customer service and marketing group from.

I could just go on and on with this conversation, but I am just going to blabber at this point.  So on that note, I would just like to say:

Thanks Spirit, my kids will appreciate your generosity.

I have no idea why you assumed that joining this "club" would save you money.  It's probably a good idea to check how large the discount is before plunking down the $60.  The bigger issue is that unless you call and cancel it, they'll quietly charge you another $60 a year from now.
